My application went complete on November 5 and I received their decision yesterday. I believe you should expect yours very soon, it seems they are releasing all early November decisions this week :) Fingers crossed!

Hi everyone, I also received their decision yesterday! Got accepted to the Traditional LL.M Program. My timeline was Oct26 (submission), Oct29 (application status changed to Complete) and Nov27 (application status changed to Under Review and hours later I received the e-mail). Best of luck to those still waiting!

Hi All! I’ve applied for Georgetown’s IBEL program. I just got an email from them for an interview with an alumnus. Has anyone else received such a request yet? I am hoping this is a good indication? Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
AJ

Hey AJ,

I am applying for General LLM.

However, I know a Brazilian who applied for Georgetown’s IBEL program and he also had an interview with an alumnus. He was accepted a couple of weeks after the interview! So, I guess it is a very good indication. Good luck!

I applied for early action process and I got deferred to regular action. Is it a positive or negative indication? Would anyone know the statistics of applicants, who applied for early action, being deferred and got accepted during regular action process? Many thanks!

What does it show on your application specifically? Does it say "Deferred to Regular Action" in the "Current Status" section?

In my application, only the date of the current status changed. But i received an email from Admissions Office that they will defer decision on my application together with applicants for regular action.

I see, thank you for the clarification. As much as I would like to help you, I don't have the answer. However, I wouldn't imagine it would be too different. Good luck!

Hey luisamesq,
I was also admitted Dec 14th. I have a question though. Did your application status change to reflect the decision date? Or, did you simply receive an email saying you were admitted?
Thanks!

Hi, so I applied early action to the Georgetown LL.M. Program. Submitted the application on Nov 7. Application showed as completed on the online status check on Nov 9. Received an email to interview on Dec 7 and replied to it on Dec 10. Haven't received a call/email to schedule an interview yet and haven't received a decision either. Is anyone else in the same situation?

Hi LawLawLand,

I had a similar experience - I got an email for an interview on 7th as well and had replied by the 8th. The respective alumnus contacted me on 13th and I had my interview on the 17th. So I guess you should be hearing from your respective alumni soon.

Regards,
AJ

Hi lawlawland and AJ

I’m in the same situation with Lawlawland. I accepted the interview proposal on 7th December , but haven’t received any e-mail from the school or alumni until now.

I have a question to AJ. Which language did you use for your alumni interview(English or your own native language)? and how was the atmosphere?

It doesn't indicate a good or bad sign. Although, there have been several people from past blogs that stated they were deferred or waitlisted and later received an acceptance. It seems their acceptances came in at the end of March all the way up until June.

I know this information doesn't help you too much, but the good thing is that you were not completely rejected. You have a second chance.

Georgetown does not post too much about statistics on the entering classes for LL.M, so it's hard to know the acceptance rate. The only informative thing that was found online was a WikiLeaks on its entering class of 2014 and 2015. I am wishing you the best.
