Will people in this batch receive the same result? Or there will be different results as people went to decision on apirl 6,7 and 8....

Hi Benz6,
I'm from China. I got the number from a local board and I guess the actual number might be 2 or 3 times bigger. This is why I think the chance is slim that these decisions are part of the second wave ADs. My guess is either there will be different results in this batch or the mass rejection has started. Hope I am wrong.... I am eager for an AD!!!

just received response on my email saying:
"Dear XXX,
The admissions committee has not reviewed your application file yet. They hope to review it within the next several weeks.
If you have further questions, please feel free to contact our office.
Sincerely,
Pam"
I dunno why it took so long...any ideas?

HI benz6,
Sorry I didnt respond you earlier - was a crazy monday that couldnt check my emails. My status turned to decision on march 29th and i called them up the next day. hope this helps...
ps: if i were you, i would've probably called them just to get over the agony..good luck!
Hey LLM_09-10,
No worries, thanks for your reply. I've heard a few people say their status turned to decision at the end of March and they have all received good news (either AD or asked if they would like to be waitlisted) so I can't help but feel like some of the decisions coming out now could include rejections!
I was told due to the Easter break, the post is delayed by a couple of days, so will check today - if i see no letter, I may just make that phone call!!
Hope you've sorted out your fellowship query?

This is quite surprising Bayern. When did you complete your application? Was it after the February 1st deadline? That is the only reason I can think of which could explain why they haven't assessed your application yet.

BTW, waitlisted to day.

Ph0b0s,
I called the admission office, they told me that the housing info should be available after April 15th. So we should receive the info soon!
See you in August,
Pong

Have you guys any idea where you will be living? I looked on the website and I think Maplewood seems good.

Just curious....what is the deadline for the deposit for the people who receive the admission letters recently?

My application complete date just changed from 24/12/2008 to 4/24/2009.
My understanding is that a decision is now rendered. Would Cornell e-mail me with a decision? Or will I need to wait for a snail mail? How do I know if I have been rejected or accepted?

Call them! I am not sure if they work on saturdays, but I would give a try!
They are very kind with applicants and they will promptly tell you the decision.
GOOD LUCK!!
