Dont fret it, Columbia is so much better anyways. Fingers crossed that you´ll get that one.

Thank you for your encouragement

Actually I received rejection from Penn today. Bad luck.

An ex-colleague of mine was rejected by CLS, NYU, Michigan and Georgetown, but got into HLS with a full scholarship! On the other hand there are those who accept offers from other schools because they cannot wait to hear from HLS.

You never know what is good or bad luck. :-)

no problem :-)

Actually, from what i understand, Harvard lays a lot of emphasis on one's personal statement. The fact that they have a technical part and a personal part - its like a mini examination in itself. So, they end up trusting their own assessment of how good you are as opposed to what some unknown examiner did.

All the best!

Yes, I know few people who were rejected.

Btw, the decisions are apparently released in the afternoon in the US... I know 3 people who were notified of a decision around 4 PM (NY time). I know this is not very relevant; maybe for those who keep checking their emails ;).

Yes, there is another thread "Columbia Regular Cycle"...

Well, I know someone admitted in January; someone else rejected last week. On this forum, about a dozen people were admitted through regular cycle.

@ Dabk
Are you sure that "about a dozen people were admitted through regular cycle"? I may be wrong, but from what I have been reading only three people said that they were admitted through the regular cycle (Xview, Links and OlivierCH) and you said that you know personally someone else. That is it: 4 people (and at least one of them asked for an "expedite decision").

I'm pretty sure that much more are accepted...but in the forum I also count about 5-10...

I thought something like 6-12 people said they were admitted. But I checked and you're right, they are less than 5.

However, something like 2-3 people told me by PM they were admitted. I know personnaly someone who was rejected. So I guess this number of 3, 6, 12 is not really representative... I have no idea of the number of admitted applicants though. It's still early February, so it should not be that much.

Since they look daily to several applicants, I think there are already quite some...
