Columbia decisions

I sent my papers on the 5th december. I got an e-mail saying one of my recommendation letters was missing (she had already been sent by that time) BUT I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE "COMPLETE APPLICATION" E-MAIL...

Should I be worried?

And what are your credentials...I think that the "rolling basis" means nothing else that you might jump up and down if you're not considered to be excellent:-)

I would rather think the admission process is random... someone sent a summary of this process, but i don't know if this was on this thread.

They choose randomly a pile of applications and consider it. They can't review all the applications and select only the excellent ones...

Hi all,

I´ve also received admissions from Columbia, no financial support however.

I applied trough the regular cyckle, but I sent in my application 18th November. However, since LSAC messed up my reports Columbia didn´t receive it until 15 December. I got admitted on the 26th January. I think I got my admissions descision so early since I also got admitted to Duke Law, and I contacted Columbia to ask them if it was possible to speed up my admissions desciscion.

I´m a Swedish lawyer with 2 years law firm experience from and I specialize in bankig and finance.

I realize theres a lot of ppl waiting for their desciscions, so good luck to all of you!

What was your deadline for Duke Law?

They gave me until mid-February, I asked for an extension so I have until the end of March but that was after I received my admissions from Columbia. Columbia have given me until mid-March.

It's not bad news... some people were accepted very recently; others were rejected. Decisions started to be released, that's all.

Yup...no news can be good news...as somebody said earlier: They have to consider many, many candidates and apparantely they do not consider them in a specific order, but on a random basis...so, as long as you do not get an email you have not been considered!

An ex-colleague of mine was rejected by CLS, NYU, Michigan and Georgetown, but got into HLS with a full scholarship! On the other hand there are those who accept offers from other schools because they cannot wait to hear from HLS.

You never know what is good or bad luck. :-)

Gee...but indeed, I too know of people having been rejected by CLS, NYU, Michigan because of low grades, but managed to get into HLS like magic for some reason.
