Thank you very much for such an interesting post! Do you know if they have sent also rejection letters?

Thanks Kalliasus! Your post is both enlightening and comforting. It should really be made "sticky" for every visitor to this board to see.

Did you get any response re. financial aid and fellowships in the admission letter?
Did they say something about deadlines for paying the USD 500 reservation fee.
Thanks a lot

@ Salomon
Re recommendation letter from CLS Professor:
I believe that it helps, however, I wouldn't define myself as an expert at CLS graduate admissions.
@acm123
Re rejections:
I think that they have already sent some rejections as well. There is actually one post in this section mentioning this fact, around mid-January or so.
@kvdh10
Re deposit deadline:
For me, and I guess for the people who are notified on their admission at CLS from now on, the deadline for the $500 deposit is April 15.
All the best for your appls.

Has anyone received notifications of admission or rejection lately? I am from Manila, Philippines applying for the Fall Term. I have read that some people have already received admission and rejection notifications as early as January. Are these notifications for the Fall Term as well? And where do the applicants come from?
Any response will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi ms!
Thank you. And congratulations! I have not received any notification, whether admission, rejection or wait-listed... I barely beat the deadline for the application, I think I sent mine just couple of days before Dec. 15. Did you send yours really early? Or Columbia may have just been really impressed with your credentials!!!
I hope to get a response soon... getting the jitters... Also waiting for NYU admission.
So you are going to accept the offer from Columbia?

As someone already said, it seems that it does not matter "when" you sent the application to CLS.
In my case, I only received an email stating that I did not get the associateship but that they are still analyzing my file for the program...still waiting. If I don't get admission, then I'll accept the offer from Georgetown.

Hey Anusha,
When did you receive the email stating you had not received the associateship? Was it not too long after you applied? I recall someone else saying this as well.
It seems they send off notice that people did not receive the associateship quite early on.

Hey neem,
Thanks ! I applied online in the first week of December and sent the supporting materials right after. All the Law Schools follow a random method of sending their acceptances, so all of us should wait till the end of March, early April. Not getting a response early doesnt mean that you have been rejected! I have applied to harvard, yale, nyu and michigan and am waiting to hear especially from harvard and yale before deciding.
As regards associateship, the mail in which I was offered admission, was the same one in which i was told that I was not being offered associateship.

I just discovered this site today and it sure did not help my already frayed nerves to know that admission letters have been sent out to others long ago. :-( of course, i did receive my "file is complete" notification only last 13 january so i haven't really been waiting long. still... :-)
Congratulations to everyone already accepted! :)

Folks - does anyone know of someone offered an associateship?
When do they usually make decisions on this point? (I gather it might take some time...)

Hi there,
Last week I received admission notice from Columbia for the LL.M and was told that no financial aid was given to me.
I've heard that they will review their decisions about fin aid and was womdering does any one know how much they usually give? And is it worth re sending find aid application?
I am Bosnian and dont really know much about the way it works there so any further info on this would be helfpull to me.

Does anyone know whether they set aside a certain number of associateships for LLM candidates or are the JSDs and LLMs all considered together?

Two weeks ago, i received the bad news that GLS didn't give me a place in their program. Though this notice disappointed me a great deal as Columbia was my top choice, i managed to immediately reply and told them that they had been extremely prompt and responsive during the application process. The positive aspect of this fatal announcement is that i now have less choices to reflect upon. Therefore, i can presently concentrate my intent on worthwhile schools; though i can't get around the fact that GLS was my primary choice. I'm currently awaiting for Michigan, but thus far have received acceptance from NU and Illinois; and i guess i'll probably enroll at the former.
Best wishes for all who haven't been notified of a decision yet. You still stand a chance. I don't. Further, Congratulations on those admitted in Columbia!!!
