Columbia

Does Columbia not waitlist people? The impression I get is those of us who haven't heard back yet are delayed for further review until others reject their offers in late March or April? Let me know what you guys think.

I think you are right, since they have sent several rejections already. Those who hasn´t received a response yet are probably on a kind of 'waitlist'.

Yeah they claim if you haven't heard back it simply means they haven't read your app yet but it's mid March, and surely they've had a chance to review most by now. I haven't seen them communicate a 'waitlist' decision so I'm assuming we're sort of on hold until people drop out.

I applied for Early Admission and was deferred to the regular cycle but I have not received a definitive response yet. I think the "waitlist theory" makes sense because, under normal circumstances, I would have been rejected or accepted already . Every case is different though, good luck!.

It does say online that they won't have even finished reviewing applicants until end of April... So I'm not sure. Has anyone heard they will only accept applicants with 2+ yrs of professional legal experience?

--
I heard that they do admit some who don't have 2+ yrs experience, but it's an exception. Perhaps that's why my app is taking so long- I just graduated from law school in Sept 2015 and only have internship and summer associate experience. They could be balancing the various factors carefully when it comes to a recent graduate if that's also your case.

Dear all,
Dear future classmates,

I have just created a Facebook group for those who have already decided to enroll at CLS. You may find it under the following title "Columbia Law School LL.M. 2016-2017".

I believe it would be a good way to start connecting with each other before moving to NYC!

I look forward to hearing from all of you!

Best,
P.

Has anyone heard back from CLS ?

I wrote them due to other School's deadlines coming soon, and they answered me this:

'Thank you for your email. Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis, in most cases by the end of April. If you would like your application to be considered for an expedited review, please send us an email with the following information:

-The official email correspondence from the law school (s) to which you have been accepted, making sure that the decision deadline is clearly visible within the correspondence. You can do this by attaching the offer to an email or by forwarding to us the email you received.
-Documentation of any financial aid you may have received. The documentation you send should include the dollar amount of your financial aid award.

The Admissions Committee will do its best to get an answer to you approximately one week prior to your earliest deadline, but please note that we cannot guarantee that the Admissions Committee will be able to make an expedited decision'.
