Has anyone sent requests for expedited review? Would sending such a request be detrimental to the outcome of the application?

I asked (had a full tuition scholarship offer somewhere else), and they told me they are doing what they can to expedite my request.
It should not impact on the outcome, but you never know. With a good offer somewhere else it can even be positive... without any good motive probably they won't agree to make an expedite decision before late march, april 1st is the accepted deadline for LLM offers in USA.

I wonder if today's Harvard decisions will free up some space for those who haven't heard back from Columbia yet? Fingers crossed

A friend just received his acceptance e-mail.

I just got admitted at Columbia. However I was also admitted in Northwestern LLM/K, who granted me a fellowship of US$15,000.00. I am hesitant on which program to chose. I know Columbia is better ranked, however the business certificate offered by Kellogg in the Northwestern program is unique.

FIrst of all...congratulations!! Both good schools but I have to say...Columbia all the way!! The Northwestern LLM/K adds an additional 19K onto your cost so in essence, even with a 15K scholarship you're not gaining anything. The Certificate in business from Kellogg IS NOT A MBA and really does not add significant value. NW even says that if you want to do the MBA with them later on, you will get no credit for the courses taken in the certificate. You can achieve the same thing at Columbia, taking business courses as a part of your LLM. The Columbia name goes further in this regard, if you ask me.

Has anyone recieved by now a scolarship/ financial aid from Columbia ? I got admitted and my acceptance letter says "Once we have made a decision on your financial aid application, we will also let you know when your tuition deposit will be due. We hope to start reviewing financial aid applications soon and will notify you as soon as a decision has been made." anybody has something similar? Someone know what this really means? I did not apply to financial aid in Columbia.
Are the scholarships/ Financial aids always given in the acceptance letters! I'm going crazy

Anyone still waiting? I'm waiting for this one last result before making my choices, so I'm wondering exactly when Columbia will decide!

I'm still waiting too, I'm going to ask for an expedited decision if I don't hear back around 25 March. It seems like most people have been admitted or rejected already what does it mean when you still haven't heard back at this point?

Still waiting too and it's driving me crazy, although i'm quite sure that I won't be "in".
I guess i'll have to ask for an expedited decision at the same time.

Hi!
I had the exact same e-mail from them (I was admitted in early review in December). I got an e-mail last night saying that my financial aid application was unsuccessful and my deposit is due on April 1.

They said to contact them a week out from other deadlines when I enquired. I'm starting to think such a long wait is a bad sign now!

Does Columbia not waitlist people? The impression I get is those of us who haven't heard back yet are delayed for further review until others reject their offers in late March or April? Let me know what you guys think.

It does say online that they won't have even finished reviewing applicants until end of April... So I'm not sure. Has anyone heard they will only accept applicants with 2+ yrs of professional legal experience?

I think you are right, since they have sent several rejections already. Those who hasn´t received a response yet are probably on a kind of 'waitlist'.
