does this mean i will only get a decision on the 2nd of may?!

Admitted. Got decision yesterday. Applied almost on the last day. I am from Russia.

Not necessarily. It depends on when your application was complete. So you still have the chances to be admitted. My application got complete only at the beginning of March. I requested an expedited decision as I have April 1 deadline for couple of schools. They promised to do their best but could not guarantee, of course.

Agreed. Mine was completed a few weeks ago.

You probably received instructions in their initial email sent right after your applcation was received. Basically you should register on columbia website to get access to link with online status check.

What irks me is that (as far as I know) the students who have received a deferral have not heard back. Do correct me if I am wrong.
But the rate at which they are going, what if all/most of the seats are filled up, by the time they get around to looking at us?
It is possible that a candidate who applied in the early review simply misses out on a chance, because his documents are looked at too late in the day when very few seats remain.
