Berkeley LL.M Traditional Track 2017-2018 Come on in!

Hi all,

Congratulations!

I did not see any Facebook group for the LL.M Traditional Track 2017-2018?!

What are your thoughts? What countries are you from?

Which certificate are you taking?

What about housing?

Facts about this class?!

I'll start!

I am Carmin. I am 31 years old women from Italy. I worked as a lawyer, and I live in the US at the moment.

We need to get to know each other. I am pretty apprehensive about housing options.

Come on in!!

This is Erdal from Turkey. I am a lawyer too. I work as a bureaucrat at the moment.I am 44 years old. I am planing to take Business certificate. One of the alumni will probably get in touch for the Facebook Group. That is What they did last year. Actually I went to Berkeley last year. Most of the students prefer to live in private houses. Some of them also live in accomodations. However, it is quite expensive.

Hi Ayer! How are you doing?
Cannot wait to meet this fall!

Humm... Most students live in a Private house?! Where exactly?

To be honest, I am concerned about housing!

Do you have any ideas? Where to start searching?!

What I mean for the Facebook group, is that we form it. I did not see any group for the traditional track 2017-2018 so far?!

Do you have any ideas about what are you going to take ( Which classes)?

I believe we shall satisfy 21 credits. Fundamentals to US law, and Legal writing are mandatory.

Any other thoughts?

Hi Phoebe. I want to take the NY Bar Exam. We can sit for California Bar Exam without any requirement once we are qualified in our country. However, we need to take the required courses for NY Bar. I have already checked the required courses for NY Bar Exam last year and I Found out that Business Certificate is the best one which suits NY Bar exam Requirement. So I will take the Business classes and NY Bar required classes together.

Yes I am sure. If you are a qualified lawyer in your Country you are entitle to sit on California Bar Exam. Guys I was admitted last year and could not make it due to the last year's coup attempt in Turkey. I have deferred my admission for this year. During that time I have done many searches. :))

Hi there!!! My name is Silvia. I'm a lawyer in Spain (28) and I will also be attending Berkeley's LLM traditional track to get the law & technology certificate.
I am also looking into the visa requirements. Which visa type would you recommend? F1 or J1?
Really looking forward to meeting you in August!

Hi Silvia, congratulations.
Because we are going to study LLM, we will only be able to have a F1 visa. J1 visa is given in the United States is for people who wish to take part in work-and-study-based exchange and visitor programs in the U.S.

Hi Carmin! Hello, everyone! I’m Jan and I’m a 26 y/o lawyer from the Philippines. I intend to get the Certificate of Specialization in Energy and Clean Technology. I’ve read online that the Manville Apartments are nice. However, I believe they’re not yet furnished upon rental.

Let's make a sub-group for the 2017-2018 LLM Traditional Track in the UC Berkeley Facebook group! Or perhaps a separate Facebook group so it would be easier. It will be a great way for us to get acquainted with each other. I’m really excited to meet all of you!
