Berkeley

I applied online to Berkeley and also sent the letters of recommendations by courier. I have received confirmation from the courier that the packet was delivered. All this was nearly two weeks back. Unlike the other law schools to which I have applied I have not received any notification from Berkeley that my application is complete. I have of course emailed them but have not received any reply thus far. This may of course be due to the fact that the Admissions Committee is very busy but I was wondering if anybody could tell me how Berkeley goes about such confirmations (if any).

Thank You

Hi Mushroom 77

I haven't got any response from Berkeley either. However, my friend who sent all documents to Berkeley about one month before I did said on the 3rd day after she submitted her application online, she email LSAC to ask if the application was submitted to Berkeley and she got an email from LSAC in 2 days confirming the submission. About one month later, she got another email from Berkeley saying her documents were complete but she was asked to retake TOEFL exam.

The application is not reviewed on a rolling basis. So, I think you should not be worried too much about it. If you got confirmation from courier, you should be confident that the documents did arrive. I think they will contact you if they want something.

Good luck!

I received a first response from their admissions office on 10/14, over one month after my application was submitted. from that date, they have yet to reply my request of information on how to fill my application file...anyway, I wish you both the best of luck! may I ask for which program did you apply?

Dear Mushroom77

I submitted my application on October 29. Now I've just got their first response from Berkeley. Below is the content:

Dear xxxx,

Thank you for submitting an application to the Advanced Degrees Program at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). We write to inform you that it has been processed successfully and is now considered complete for purpose of review.

Complete applications will be forwarded to the selection committee in February. Admissions decisions will be made in March, and all applicants will be notified of their status in April. Given the large number of applications we receive, we request that you refrain from requesting status updates or otherwise contacting us unless the matter is urgent.

Thank you for entrusting us with your application. We will notify you of the decision on your application as soon as it becomes available.

The Advanced Degrees Program Office, UC Berkeley School of Law

Hope this is useful to you :) Cheers!
