Any news from NYU??

MAB79

Just an FYI, I emailed NYU on Friday on a matter relating to scholarships and was sent an autoreply stating that the office was closed due to the inclement weather. This may or may not delay any action on applicant decisions.

Thank you very much. Great, uncertain again...

Hope they will meet their own mid-March deadline since my CLS offers expires on March, 17 and the only school that has not replied yet is, no surprise, NYU.

I think a lot of people are in the very same position as me and this is not very good of NYU to not to be able to come up to their office(

Shouldn't we thinking about HLS instead...? I mean NYU over or in competition with CLS is Hobson's choice...no?

I am worried about HLS...the spread between my deadline @ CLS and HLS decision has to be considerable for me to take a informed decision...

I agree in part... Of course CLS is better over NYU (NO, I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER HOLYWAR, Im talking only about my focus - Corporate), however, NYU is more likely to give money. If NYU gives smth like 5k - its not serious, but if 20+... anyway, these 2 schools are both great, and given the shitty market - both are bearable.

How about Columbia + Chicago + NYU?
Columbia with 10k waiver
NYU with full scholarship

And a life-long desire to go to Harvard.

Thoughts?

Well, I was waitlisted in Chicago (i dont feel sorry for that))), admitted to CLS and still waiting for any news from NYU.

Read the forum, not so long time ago we all were enjoying a severe holywar between Morningside Heights crew and Greenwich Village adepts.

I understand they have ended up in a position that it all depends on your area of concentration. Tax, Legal Theory and International - NYU, Commercial (esp Corporate) - CLS.

However, I am ready to face againts a rotten tomato and say that CLS as above NYU in nearly all rankings and is much more acknowledged.

But HLS is above CLS as well)

But these rankings do exist no matter what we think about them. The only rationale i see in comparison is a size of a class. Ratings are mostly virtual thing, but this distinction is very well known.

I agree Whistler, but it still sickens me, one should select a school because it is a good fit and creates an environment that enable one to actualize their potential to the fullest.

In my view the CLS' brand name is by no mean worth of a tuition waiver offered by NYU...If I were you I would go with NYU without a second thought.

Come on you guys!!! there are at least 20 recent threads with the discussion which one is better NYU or CLS, CLS or NYU, HLS, the rankings, the size of the class, different programs blablabla.... This is so old! Don't start it here again, please....

Instead, some people mentioned they were admitted to nyu and also sb said sth about the full scholarship... could you please share some details?
Like when did you get the offer, some details about the scholarship, etc.?

I have just received my admission letter (e-mail) - Intl Tax program.

It does not mention anything about scholarships.

Best of luck to all of you.
