Does any folk have news from NYU? NYU seems quite patient this year. Based on past experience, it should be starting to issue admissions.
I know some folks have been admitted by NYU@NYC in conjunction with NYU@NUS, and a small number of others have been admitted to its tax program. But it seems general, corporate and other directions' admissions are still in stock.
Any news from NYU?

maybe in two/three weeks+, knowing from an "insider" of NYU Law...

The deadline for NYU is March, 15, right?
Posted Feb 20, 2009 03:21
I think mid-March is the latest for international students, but not for domestic llms. Domestic students can apply up to April 1 and the deadline for decisions is June.
Posted Feb 20, 2009 05:58
Now which deadline are you guys talking about?
I know only one deadline that was way back on 1st December.

Yeah, the Int'l application deadline was December, the domestic deadline hasn't passed yet. My (domestic) application was completed on Feb. 5th.

Well, I got an offer for the NUY@NYC program together with the NYU@NUS offer. I wrote to the the School of Law wandering when they would send the official NYU@NYC offer and they said March. So I think that there will be no news for anyone earlier than that.
So, don't worry, be happy! It seems there is nothing unusual in you having heard nothing from them.

In another matter, if you received an offer from NYU would you possitively take it?
Posted Feb 20, 2009 22:17
Hi, Pix:
What do you mean by "official offer"? Isn't that one "official" enough which you received from NYU along with acceptance of NUS?

Well, the only thing the NUS offer mentioned about the NYC program was that I was elligible for both programs and that if I withdrew from NUS I would receive an offer to NYC in "due course". I understand this to mean they will send another letter in March relating expressly to the NYC program. For practical matters, I guess the only relevance of this second letter is to know when is my decision expected and if I can still wait to hear from other universities before making up my mind.

Thank you Pix. But could you tell me the deadline for decision between NYU and NUS? In that way we can presume the date when NYU will release the offer to us applying NYU@NYC only.
Posted Feb 23, 2009 07:18
Any update?
Posted Feb 23, 2009 15:07
It is said that anybody granted Hauser Scholarship will receive the notice first. Is that true?

They gave me 15 days to answer, until February 15, and then told me the NYC offer would be sent in March.

Yes, it does make sense. You folks have 15 days to decide and then they have another 15 days to process. In that way March is expectable.

My application for the tax LLM was complete November 4th but I haven't heard anything yet-is this a bad sign?
Posted Feb 23, 2009 23:12
Yea you're probably screwed

kstar3001,
I don't agree with Santa. While a few tax LL.M. applicants have heard back, I believe many have not. I would not start worrying until April 15.
