I called them today and I'm in, too (I'm from Brazil). I'm very happy with the results, but I'm probably going to Penn.
Any news from Cornell

Me too - going to reject Cornell. Can you tell me why you choose Upenn ?
Posted Apr 05, 2006 10:51
I still am listed simply as completed...anyone else in that category at this late date? I know i am supposed to wait for decision to show on my screen...but it is getting late in the game, no? Should i call and find out?

Ce12, I chose UPenn for several reasons. The most important is that (i) their program fits better my study plans (besides offering cross-disciplinary studies at Wharton) and (ii) I prefer Philadelphia to Ithaca.
Both are small programs and good ranked universities (although Penn is better ranked, I wouldn't decide based on this only), so I guess it's a personal decision.
Have you decided where you are going to?

Hi Lenny,
Yes, I have made my mind to go to Cornell...for now. Actually, I made my deposit yesterday and e-mailed the admission office to inform them of my deposit. But, I know that I am on the waiting list of Michigan--Ann Arbor. If you were in my shoes, which one will you choose, Michigan or Cornell? And why? (I need something beyond rankings...)
By the way, I have bought the book of "America's Best Graduate Schools--2007 Edition", do you wat to know some further information? If yes, give me your question and e-mail address and I will see what I can do for you.

Hello Michelle,
I am from Taiwan as well. I haven't received any information of my application from Cornell. Since you have been offered a place, then I guess I probably won't have a good chance to get into Cornell because of its quota...alas.
Good Luck!

I got the acceptance yesterday but I do not think I will go there. Good luck to everyone who hasn't heard from Cornell. :)

Hi keyif,
Don't be so dispirited. I believe you will get a better ranked school just in a few days...have some faith in yourself!Besides, I am on the waiting list of Michigan, and I probably will choose Michigan--Ann Arbor if I can get in. So, there is still some chance. Other than Cornell, is there any other law school you are waiting for?
Best regards,
Michelle

Thank you, Michelle, it's kind of you to say so. U of Michigan has been my first selection; however, it is also the first one rejecting me. Unlike most others, I applied to its LL.M. in International Tax Program, which requires its applicants with more practical experience. May I ask which school did you graduate from? And have you already passed the bar exam and been a practitioner? Good luck, to both of us!

Hi keyif,
I am a graduate from Tunghai University. No, I did not take any bar exam in Taiwan. I did attend and pass the exam of 民間公證人 in the second year from my graduation. After that, I have joined an international corporation---probably it's my work experience and personality that have drawn the attention of the admission office. I can see the reason why the program for which you have applied prefers applicants having practical experience...anyway, it's quite subjective. So, just try your best. Good luck!
Regards,
Michelle

Hi Michelle, For many reasons, I don't give much attention to rankings. I just use them as a sutil reference. I did not applied to Michigan, although I knewn that they have a great LLM. Michigan is cold like no other place and, comparing others factors, like faculty quality and prestigious abroad, I believe Cornell is miles ahead from Michigan. I still waiting for CLS and NYU. Best wishes! Lenny

Paula, Any news from CLS or NYU so far? best regards, Lenny
Posted Apr 10, 2006 16:45
Lenny, I haven't heard from CLS, although my application was complete on Dec 06!!! This is really annoying. As to NYU, I haven't applied to their LLM. Please let me know when you hear from CLS. :)

Anyone heard from Columbia the last few days ?
Posted Apr 10, 2006 16:57
Ok. But you also let me know when you hear from Columbia, ok? CLS has a tradition of late admissions, so don´t be concerned. best regards,
Posted Apr 10, 2006 17:12
Thanks. Do you think it's wise to email them about the status ?
Posted Apr 10, 2006 20:41
I don´t think so Terrie.
