I also applied to Cornell Law School. I applied on Dec 1, 05, and sent all supplement docs on Dec 16, 05.

They received my completed docs on Jan 16, 06. Then, they email me that my file was completed on Feb 2, 06. GOSH! i think my situation is just like yours.

DOes anybody know about interview admission at Cornell?

I sent my application in one package about mid Dec.
Cornell e-mailed me that my file was completed yesterday.
Did I miss the Feb. 1 deadline?

Hi,

first, there is no interview for Cornell LLM prospectives,
also, the feb 1 deadline is only a deadline for them to tell you that if your are complete by feb 1 you will receive a decision before the end of the 12 weeks following your email of completeness,
best regards

I sent my documents to Cornell in the end of October and received no communication whatsoever...I had to email them and ask about my file, which they said is complete. I created an account and I am now following online the steps of my application. Nevertheless, as I have been admitted to UPenn and judge it over Cornell, I won't enroll if I am offered a place.

It seems that Cornell has started to send its decisions. I have checked my online status and noticed that I have a decision, but do not know yet if it is admission or rejection. I will let you know as soon as I receive the letter.

I also checked my status in the online system. Though it showed "Decision," I have not got any e-mail from it. Does that mean the decision is a rejection?

LLM_06: I also got an offer from UPenn. Could you tell me why do you chose UPenn over Cornell?

I believe they don't send out emails, but a real letter by snail mail for acceptance.

I'm also curious to know the reasons why Upenn is better than Cornell.

hi guys,

I am gonna cry , I am a little bit nervous, and start to lose my patience do you think that If i am complete since January 4 and unlike you didn't have a decision taken it's because they only for the moment sent decision to admitted students and will wait to take decision for rejected students or that all their process is make at random and I am always only complete cos they didn't review last week my file ?
thanks

Cornell has already sent its 1st round letters of acceptance. The "decision" in the online status checking means "get admitted" and can expect a letter of acceptance from them in 1-2 weeks. Otherwise you have to wait until the applicants who get admitted and are from the same country as you reject the offer, then the admission committee may pick up next people in their list of acceptance from the same country.

You still have a chance if you have quite a good profile. Many people who get admitted in the 1st round reject the offer because they also get offers from other better schools.

I said that I judge UPenn over Cornell (but this has not to be taken in an absolute manner, of course). First off, and most importantly, UPenn course offering is better suited to my background and intention of prospective study; secondly, UPenn is better ranked on US News and Leiter Rankings (scholarly reputation); lastly, location: Cornell is nestled in upstate New York, a 4-5 hour drive to NYC, whilst UPenn is not that isolated. Nevertheless, I have to admit that, in my country, Cornell has a better reputation, a fact which, in my opinion, does not outweigh the scales in favor of Cornell (in my case).

But I am still expecting to hear some (hopefully, but hardly positive) answers from other universities.

No. You still can hear a good new earlier than that if those applicants from your country who get admitted decide to go to somewhere else. The admission committee pick up the next choice in their list right away as soon as they recieve emails/letters from their admitted applicants notifying that they reject the offer. But if these applicants still hold their decision until 1st of May, you have to wait until then.
