Hi,
Also applied to Yale, Harvard, NYU, Stanford and Cornell. Chicago is my 2-3rd choice after Yale and Harvard, mainly due to law&ecs, my subject of interest.
My final decision will depend, I suppose, on scholarship offers.
Any news from Chicago?

Congratulations to all of u! Chicago is also one of my top choices. So far I have been admitted to Upenn and Georgetown. Still waiting for all the others.
However, from Chicago I have only received a confirmation that my application materials were received and being processed (january 17th), but no notification of completeness or anything.
I sent in my materials just before christmas. Did any of you guys receive a notification that your application was complete?
I am really getting a bit nervous here...

I sent all material on Jan.11. I got an email to confirm my application complete on Feb.3. the email as following
Your file is complete and will be given to the Graduate Studies Committee
for review. It typically takes six to eight weeks for a decision. Thank you
for your interest in The University of Chicago Law School.
Nothing more. a long way to wait....

Strafrecht, thanx for the information. I think I should enquire with them as in the email I received it wasn't mentioned that my file was complete.
Are you Dutch as well by the way?

Yes, you should e-mail them. Admissions are made on a rolling basis (meaning that applications are reviewed in the order they are completed) and therefore it is important to know if your application is complete so that you may to send additional documents (if required), thus accelerating the decision process.

Was also admitted to University of Chicago. What are your considerations for making this your first choice?

Any news since February 23? Thanks.

Congrats to all.
Theme - the reason Chicago is number 1 for me is the small program and the incredible faculty. Chicago's LLM has the reputation of being the most academically rigerous LLM program, also I like the thought of being challenged by the teaching methodology. For me the purpose of this LLM is not simply a job at the other end (if it were, then perhaps Harvard would be my top choice), it is for intellectual engagement and development. That said, Chicago has the highest job placement rate and highest pass rate of the bar exam by LLM's.
Hope that answers your question.
BTW, I do have other options (UPenn, Duke, Michigan, Cornell, Texas) it is just for me Chicago is the best program. That said, am going to wait to see if I get into Yale, Columbia, Harvard and NYU before making final decision, but I don't think my choice will change unless they offer me millions and millions of dollars!

Hi guys,
I am admitted to Chicago, but still have no idea what it means "on rolling basis". I sent my materials in the end of January and was admitted some 10 days ago. At the same time, a colleague of mine, who sent his application on the same day, still didn't hear from them.

Congrats with your quick acceptance!
But the revision on rolling basis is indeed a bit weird. I applied end december, but they only requested my LSAC report a couple of days ago.
I keep my fingers crossed...

Hi guys.
I'm in at Chicago, applied in mid January, one day after the suggested deadline (which I think was January, 15th).
Admission e-mail was sent almost two weeks ago (February 23rd).
Anybody else from Chile??
Best luck to you all.

Congratulations for all admitted students! Does anyone of you wish to pursue a specialization in antitrust law? What other universities would you suggest for such a specialization?
Hope to hear from you soon...

Congratulations!!! When did you hear? I am also still waiting and I was actually getting a bit pessimistic. But they are still sending out acceptances?
Posted Mar 13, 2006 15:37
Congratulations to the accepted applicants. Could you share your credentials with those who have not received an answer yet (my application was completed on March 7, 2006) Tks

It might be just wishful thinking, but might it be that end of february they have notified applicants from certain regions (like Latin America)? I can hardly believe that they have sent out all of their acceptances on February 22/23, as my LSAC reports were only requested after that date. On the other hand, many people seem to have been notified around the 23rd. More people still waiting?
Best of luck to you in any case, the suffering should almost be over:)
