receiving an admission decision so early - you must be a star candidate. I have just checked and I have not even received an application complete (applied in first week of Nov).
Good time for me to chase up!

Will you accept their offer?
Posted Jan 07, 2009 12:59
My application reached UMich in early December. According to the Admissions Office, decisions regarding fellowships will be made/released in March. My acceptance of this offer will depend on the amount of financial aid granted (from UM and other schools)...
Good luck to you all!
Good luck to you all!

Just a quick question - does different consideration timelines apply for the general LLM and the LLM (International Tax)? I have submitted my application way before December and have not even received the completion confirmation!

I am wondering the same thing. According to their webpage, decisions for the (general) LL.M. won't be due until March.

They say the same thing for the Tax LLM...
I am in!!!! just got the email!!!! yyyaaaahhhhh!!!!!!

Congratulations! It's very rare for UMICH to issue admission so early.

So, double congratulations! Since "the program enrolls of up to ten LL.M. students each year", we are 20% of the total potential student body rsrsrs!!!! Where are U from? I'm from Brazil.

Hi everyone,
I just received an "application complete" email from U of Michigan for the general LL.M.:
"Dear Mr. (...),
I'm glad to confirm that we have received your application, and that it is complete.
We will contact you again as soon as admissions decisions will have been made, which will be by March or early April. If, along the way, you have any questions, please feel free to contact me any time.
Mit herzlichen Gruessen aus dem verschneiten Michigan,
Ihre
Dora-Maria Sonderhoff"
I especially like the greetings at the end of the email - it is in German (Germany is my home country), which means that the people at U of Mich actually take the time to even add a personal touch to such a short message (I am sure they have these greetings on file for all the major languages). It also confirms what some of my professors who went to U of Mich for their LL.M. told me about it: They really value their LL.M. students and don't primarily consider them cash cows.

I was told by an alumnus that there is a German member of staff in the graduate admissions office at UMich, which explains the "personal touch" in German...

Actually, that German member is Dora-Maria Sonderhoff (http://www.law.umich.edu/prospectivestudents/admissions/Pages/admission-staff-profiles.aspx). Sascha, didn't her name ring a bell?? By the way, Dora-Maria is really nice.
