May I please ask when do I need to pay LSAC the whole fees?
Yes, LSAC is really costly!

Do I really need to pay $125 Authentication and Evaluation fee?

@joyceyang66 - Unfortunately, there seems to be no way out of paying the $125 as a couple of univs insist that transcripts be sent through LSAC only. As I understand it, you need to pay them $125+$75 before they start accrediting your transcript. It really does feel like an unnecessary expense. Also, a lot of universities seem to want you to fill their online application form through LSAC for which LSAC is charging an additional $16 per application!

I was also wondering how long LSAC takes to process transcripts and recommendation letters? Do they actually take 4-6 weeks even if all your documents are in English itself?

@Butterflies
Thank you for the reply.

Even some universities ask the applicants applying through LSAC, does it mean they enforce us paying the $125 authentication fee? I haven't seen any schools specifically mention the authentication system. And there's a "remove" function with each fee on LSAC. I am curious what if I remove the item $125?

I heard that after Oct. LSAC will get more and more applications and the efficiency will be lessen. A person has gone through it saying it is better to hand it in September. However, it is too late for me now.

I Keep working on the required papers like SOP.
Thank you!

The $125 authentication fee is not compulsory at all, I have read instructions from the 4 law schools I am willing to apply and none of them is requiring this. This is only business, I keep removing this item everyday from my cart on the Lsac site, and everyday they are automatically adding it. The $75 Document Assembly Service allows LSAC to forward your transcripts to law school, and the additional $125 International Transcript Authentication and Evaluation Service allows LSAC to evaluate, authenticate and transmit your transcripts to law school. I don't see how they need to evaluate & authenticate your transcripts since they are directly stamped, signed & sent by institutions (same thing with LORs).

@Petalouda,

Yes, I think so with the $125 Authentication fee...
I haven't paid LSAC any fee, all is still in progress and I wonder if it will ask me to pay it after all.

Anybody has the experiences?
Thank you.

I got the reply from LSAC about authentication fee $125, it's for your reference:

---
Please pay LSAC as soon as possible. The authentication service can be required by the schools you apply to. You will have to pay that fee in order for us to complete an evaluation and a report.

Please do not hesitate to contact us at 215-968-1315 or LLMINFO@LSAC.org with any questions or concerns.

One question - did you ask your recommendees to address your letters to any particular university? Because a lot of universities seem to require that the LoRs be addressed to their Graduate Legal Studies Department, etc. but the LoRs you upload to LSAC will be sent to multiple universities.

But did they send directly to each university? I mean...i think is way better if you send a specif letter to each school you're applying, for sure...but i'm not sure how to do it if you're using LSAC's service...do you have to let LSAC know this or you just don't send to them and send directly to the university you want?

thank you!

When you register a recommender in LSAC, you decide if her recommendation must be send to a specif university or if you will use her recommedation for a variety of applications

Hi does anyone get this kind of notice from LSAC? If I already confirmed the schools I can skip the notice, right? What does it mean "confirm your institutions attended?"

Thanks...

---
A law school report request was received from New York University School of Law. The law schools have set their reporting preferences based on the documents that they wish to receive. This school requires that applicants have their transcripts processed through LSAC. We are unable to take further action on your file until you confirm your institutions attended. guys I need help!!

I am sending all my transcripts to LSAC but I am not sure about one thing.

I would have sent them also the incorporation to the BAR association and another law degree obtained in another Country but I dont understand if it is mandatory to first forward theese certificates to the Institution/ University where I have gained the certifications and then send them to LSAC or if I can directly send the original transcripts by myself without forwarding them to the University/ Bar association.

In case can I send them all in the same envelope or they have to be sent one by one?

Please help me!

You can directly send the original transcripts by yourself without forwarding them to the University/ Bar association. And you can send them all in the same envelope.

Below is the reply from LSAC for your reference.

As long as the envelopes remain sealed you will be able to send them all together to LSAC yourself.

If you could respond to another question how can I deal with the LSAC module that should go with the transcript?

I mean does it have to be put inside the envelope together with the transcripts?

Thanks

You can put LOR and Transcripts all together in one envelop. Make sure each of them is sealed well, I had my references and the institutions sign or stamp on the seals of each envelops.
