same here as tmalmine! my file was complete on december 8 and got the above mail confirming that. i wonder how much time is there before i hear from them about admission decision.
Posted Feb 16, 2006 22:22
i've also tried with Michigan. On December 5th, i got a notice stating that my file was complete and that decisions will be ready by March/April. I'm looking forward to their answering me soon. The downside to Mich LL.M. program is that it is quite small (just 45 places), so that chances are slimmer here.
ciao

This is what they replied
"Yes, it's correct that we have started making decisions. Please note, however, that we are still in the process of making many more decisions, and that many files require multiple readings because we really want to make sure that we make as thoughtful and fair a decision as is humanly possible. Therefore, if an applicant has not yet heard from us, it only means that we do not yet have a decision for him/her. You should already have heard from us whether or not your application is complete, unless we received your application only 3 weeks ago or less, or unless we know that a TOEFL exam for which the applicant was scheduled is coming up very shortly. In such cases, we wait a little to give missing documents a chance to reach us within a reasonable amount of time.
We understand that this is a trying time for our applicants, and appreciate your patience and understanding.
with best regards,
Dora-Maria Sonderhoff "
But what I did receive is
"Thank you for submitting your application to the University of Michigan
Law School.
This email confirms that our office has received your data
electronically. We will advise you as soon as possible, after having checked all
documents, whether your application file is complete, and if not, which
items are missing. If you do not hear from us within four weeks,
please feel free to email us to inquire.
Thank you again for including Michigan in your law school
considerations. We look forward to reviewing your completed application."

Does anybody know how many seats Michigan, NWU and UPenn have to give admissions to LLM apllicants a year?
Posted Feb 17, 2006 20:41
NYU and Penn offer more than 100 seats. They sponsor large LL.M. Programs. On the flip side, Michigan only offers 45 places as published on their website.
Posted Feb 17, 2006 21:08
this is not true, UPenn takes less than 80 people in their LLM
Posted Feb 18, 2006 03:37
I'm not very sure about Penn, but i'm absolutely correct in regards with NYU.

I made it to umich too. I'm from India. However, since I have already been admitted to Columbia, don't think I'll be taking up the offer. Its quite exciting nonetheless:-)

I´m from Spain. I guess I´m in the same situation: since I was admitted to Georgetown (I hope I get admitted by NYU), I don´t think I´ll accept Michigan´s offer. It´s great being accepted anyway...

In at Michigan too.
