Well, the OP isn't going to Cambridge. :( I just couldn't afford it after all my attempts at funding failed. There is at least one good thing, though, that came out of this: the thread was fantastic! So many wonderful people from all over the world and great posts. I hope that this year's applicants can look back at the D2K11CT and learn something. Hard to believe the first post was almost one year ago.
So, if you are going, have a pint for OK_Computer and, if you see Prof. Sir JH Baker enjoying his retirement, buy him one, too.
I did find a good job, though, which in this economy was hard. Now if I could just convince my employer an LLM from Cambridge would be worth subsidizing. . . :)

Sad to hear that. But, good luck in your new work and don't give up on trying again an LL.M in Cambridge. My advice, if I may so, would be: save money so next time you manage to go whichever the result for funding is.

Hi guys,
I just got my CAS statement yesterday and was wondering if some facts there are incorrect: course start date 30th September 2011; course end date 30th September 2012; last date for enrolment 20th October 2011? Is that correct? Yours same?
Thought its Oct 1 2011 to sometime in June 2012? Please advice so I know whether to request for rectification

Hi guys,I believe it's correct. Mine is the same and I used that information for visa application. My tier 4 visa was granted. I think they give you additional 3 months to stay after graduation.

Hi Flowergirl, thanks a lot. That was helpful. Was ur last date for enrolment 20th October also? What's the implication of that?

Hello Kouriver,
I have the same problem. My CAS, which is received yesterday, also says that the Course Start Date is 30 Sep and Course End Date is 30 Sep 2012?!?
I thing this is not correct... so I e-mailed the PBI Office with request for clarification... as soon as I receive a reply, will let you know...
If you look at the web page of BoGS, you'll see that the LLM course lasts for "one academic year (9 months), starting in October each year, and finishing at the end of the following June"
http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/offices/gradstud/prospec/studying/qualifdir/courses/fclw/
On the other hand, our official hard copy conditional offer letter, which we received by post, clearly provides that the duration of course is "1 year"?!?
I hope that the PBI Office will respond quickly because I have my visa appointment scheduled for this Monday...

Sad to hear we won't meet in Cambridge! :( But congrats on your new job!!
This thread really was amazing, I would have gone crazy halfway through the admissions process if it hadn't been for everyone's highly valuable advice and opinions, or the shared frustration of not hearing back from the BoGS or Ms Wade, obsessive mail- or camsis-checking etc...
Best of luck!!

I'm sorry to hear that. There'll be quite a group of us misfits lining up for our free pints at the Dominium and OK_Computer School of Law in a few weeks' time. Best of luck with the new job!

Guys,
just received an e-mail form the PBI Office regarding the Start/End Course Date...
It seams that I was right and that our CAS should be amended. Aparently, the PBI Office will include in the CAS a "sponsor note" which reads:
Sponsor note: Dates amended to read: Course Start Date:
1 October 2011 Course End Date: 30 June 2012
We will not receive a new CAS statement, but the CAS (internally within the UKBA system) has been amended. The amendment is visible to UKBA.
IMPORTANT!
we do not need to include the CAS statement with our application because it is for our own use only, so this amendment should not cause confusion in our application. However, we must make sure that the information in our application form matches the updated CAS.
Hope that this hepls!

Hi Steeler,
That was quick and helpful. How come some people obtained visa with 30th Sept 2011- 30th Sept 2012? I hope nobody gets into trouble.

I hope I do not get into trouble. My CAS read Course Start Date 1 October 2011 and Course End Date 30 September 2012. I applied for visa with this information and my application became successful today. I got a tier 4 visa for 1 September 2011 to 20 January 2013. Do you think I need to reapply????
By the way, sorry for my misunderstanding and previous wrong advice.

Hey guys!
A quick question: what is the LL.M. University fee for EU students? On the Law Fac.'s website it says GBP 7,625 for 2011-12, but my College told me it GBP 7,773!??
Thanks!

Thank you JsDupont. I have contacted the PBI office and I wil update in this thread what the response is in case anyone has the same problem.
By the way, when is our LLM guide party/meet up going to take place? Looking at the orientation schedule, it seems like we are going to be quite busy.

However, the introductory lectures take place before most of the activities for freshers so maybe we could go for lunch on the 29th or the 30th?
