Fire away. I say Cambridge's online application is clunky, and recommend you not worry if it says it can't recognize your email address.

Thanks..That' s what I' m gonna do.
In fact, I tried to contact them by e-mail, but it seems impossible, as the answer that I received is "We are currently experiencing large volumes of e-mails to this address. We therefore cannot provide an individual response at this time."

Hahaha! The admissions adress of the BoGS has this auto-response all year! I'm wondering why they offer this email adress at all. Try contacting Mrs Wade instead, the LLM secretary, or call the BoGS on the phone.
And don't get frustrated if CamSiS tells you that your statements are too long, after a while I found out that they only accept only 128 characters per line (even though they tell you 130 - breaks count as characters as well!).
Oh yeah, and one BIIIIIIG advice: Before you submit your application, download your application as a pdf (CamSis offers you to do this at the end of the process) and check whether all fields "look right" BEFORE submitting it!!!

Thanks for the advice Dutchman. Will do. The interface is clunky and frustrating to work through. Maybe it discourages the casual applicant . . .

Well, after more than five years reading this website, the app to Cambridge is finally in the mail! Whoo hoo! It would be a dream come true. . . . (expensive though, especially with all non-European countries trying to devalue their currencies.)

I used the online application process. It didn't want to recognize my email address, but I proceeded ahead anyway and in the end I didn't have any problems. The essays took me longer to write than I had thought they would; not sure why. I also didn't understand the character per line limitation---it didn't seem natural for the text boxes they gave, which allowed for more characters. But the limitation is enforced.

Yes, with the caveat that because it is not a research degree you need not give summary details of a research proposal, just your reasons for applying.

Past or present applicants: Any sense as to how much of a lag there is between the Board of Graduate Studies' receipt of materials sent by post (reference letters, etc) and confirmation of receipt on the CAMSIS account? Just curious.

@OK_Computer: Hahaha! Good question!!! The answer is: MONTHS (really!)!!! This year, most applicants received the Camsis update at the end of April (not joking). However, you will receive a short email from Suzanne Wade (the LLM secretary) earlier if (and only if) you are accepted. They start to send out these informal offers at the end of December, but continue this for months to come.

I think it's obviously always two weeks after you have submitted your app. You therefore have to send them in by 28 Oct., like the self-service area tells you!
The final deadline for online apps is mid Nov, so people who apply last minute have to send in their docs by the end of november.
If you can't make it till the end of October, then I suggest you call the BoGS and ask for a deferral of the deadline.

Thanks for your answers to our questions, Dutchman.

I just saw the little 10 minute introductions to each course on law.cam.ac.uk. Fascinating.

Do people really care about the little E,I etc. designations for their LLMs? It seems silly, but I guess uber-specialization is trendy.

No, I really don't think so. You get a regular "LL.M." degree, and I think the "specialization" will only be indicated on your certificate.

However, there will be a separate Corporate LLM starting in 2011/12 (with separate courses!), which will be called the CLLM (so I guess the title itself changes if you do that one!)

Hello!
I have submited my online application and had access to my self service area but my "print your cover sheet" button doesn' t work. What if I send my documents without that?

You might want to try to enable pop-ups. It should work afterwards.

Another question guys. My second referee still hasn't sent me my reference letter (pending since several weeks). He promised to send me the reference letter within the next two weeks. Should I send in my papers incomplete since November 16th is the due date? Unfortunately the Graduate Application Office does not answer e-mails.
