I'm sorry but I don't have an answer for, it depens on the scholarships you applied for. I know that for me, my last chance of getting something is from my college (I'm sending my application form tomorrow). If that doesn't work, I'll simply get a loan... :/

Thanks so much for your response. Well, am told scholarship applications aren't considered until after you'v been admitted. But obviously in our case, the scholarship offers were sent out even before decisions on our admissions. So I don't realy know, if they consider the scholarship applications batch by batch as the admission decisions are made. I need to attend cambridge, in fact I just have to.

Hey guys, I guess your line of discussion assumes all is well with everyone of us. Butit is not. What about funding? No one seems to talk about that! Or do I assume all of you got scholarship? I got my offer last monday, but no funding, yet. Right now, am at a loss. I'v posted questions regarding that here severaly but no one was interested in responding. Of what use is college membership and start date to me if I have no financial backing? So pls guys, my question is, having received an offer this late, (a week ago) are there stil scholarships for us? Or are we stil being considered for any funding package? Or have to fund the studies on our own? Pls thanks for your inputs

I am sorry about this. I have no knowledge in regard to scholarship process as I intend to self-fund this program. However, funding is a big concern. So, I would call up board of graduate studies if I were you. They picked up the last time I called

Alright. Thanks a lot. I'll put a call across. But this contradicts the general opinion of people in Nigeria about Cambridge, as being the most liberal in funding. God will see us all through.

How do they make the funding request to one's college?

Dear Flowergirl, I was wondering whether you had an idea about how strict they are going to be regarding our academic condition.. I know that we had discussed this problem earlier.
For example,if they ask for an average 9.7 which is my case, do you know whether they would accept 9.62 for example?
What is you current situation and how is it developing?
greetings!
:)

Dear Holly
I managed to pass the academic condition by 0.01. I was very close to not passing it so I understand what you mean. From what I read in the past years llm guide discussion, there was/were case(s) of people writing to ask for bgs to lower the condition. From my point of view 9.62 is no different from 9.7. My advice is to write bgs and tell them about your situation because you have nothing to lose. If you have already passed all other conditions, I think it worths to try. Best of luck and p.m. me if it works.

Do you think there is much hope for me?

Hi Law Lad. They only told me on Monday that I got in, so trust me, there are still acceptances to be sent.

More generally, I have a question for those who are still lurking on this board. I am going to have to defer until 2012-2013. Do you know if Cambridge "automatically" will grant my request, or if they only do so for "unavoidable" reasons like health problems.

Thanks.

fulloflaw,

as far as LLM course is concerned, there is no possibility of "deferral". The one thing you can do is "resubmit" your application for the 2012/13. You can see the option "resubmit your application" in your Camsis profile. The problem is> it means that you dont have to send all the documents again, BUT your application will be assessed together with all the other applications for 2012/13 and it may be that you dont get another offer.

I wonder whether they usually readmit people who resubmit their application... Maybe I too will have to do that, so I wonder..

Hey guys,

I don't remember exactly but I think it says somewhere in the information PDF attached with the email offer that a deferral is possible if you've fulfilled all your conditions. So you don't actually have to resubmit all over again. Hope that helps!

Thank you Holly, but my conditional offer quite clearly includes an entire subsection on the topic of "applying to defer the offer". Perhaps those who were accepted later receive this in their conditional offer but those who are accepted early on dont?

it's very unlikely they will 'automatically' grant your deferral request, or even do so at all. deferrals in the UK are granted much more rarely than in North America, and it would be unusual for a deferral to be granted in the first place. fingers x'd in any case..

Hi guys,
I just have had time to read " an explanation to offer" booklet and on page 17 there exist a section on deferring offers. I don't understand it in full after having read it but hopefully those who wish to defer may find it useful.

Urgent & Important:

My Camsis's status today suddenly changed to "Admission Revocation" and all the other details were deleted. I have already fulfilled all my outstanding conditions and obtained college membership. Not sure if this is normal or is a system error. Does anyone get the same problem?

That's really weird... Must be some kind of administrative error. My camsis status looks fine. I would try to call the BOGS and/or Ms Wade first thing tomorrow morning to figure this out... Best of luck!
