The email I received said that it was sent to Australian applicants - so NZ girl (am assuming you are from NZ) I would not read anything into not receiving it!

Oh ok, thanks! I feel a little bit better now. In any case, the deadline might be different for us, as I think applications are handled by the British embassy in each country and they set their own procedure for the applications.
Yes, I agree that it would be better to find out whether you've been accepted into a UK university first, before making the application. Especially since the personal statement and research proposal are 2,000 words long each! Unfortunately the deadline for NZ applicants is very unclear, at least I have not found it on the internet. If anyone else has information, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Congrats to ultimatesloth, lemonsherbert and others that received offers. Do we already know how many are in?
A friend of mine got her offer in March, 2 years ago. Honestly, I don't think we should worry before end of March.

Congrats to all those with offers!
For those who haven't heard back, have hope!
I remember being this excited about starting the LL.M this time last year. Am currently on the 2010 course and loving it.
Best wishes x

Got an offer via email today!!! I am sure they are all coming in now - fingers crossed!
Well, the Monday and alphabetical theories are no good then.
But the theory that only students who haven't subscribed to LLM Guide receive offers still holds. So far none of the offers we've heard of have gone to people who were already posting here before their offers.
Not that I'm jealous or anything :) Congrats all!

Does anyone know whether there are any non-Cambridge scholarships available for European students? Any advice would be highly appreciated! Thanks!!

I received an offer today! Same routine - an email, an attachment and no change on Camsis (of course!). No messages concerning scholarships or funding either.
Good luck to everyone!

Hi Guys,
I also received an email from Miss Wade yesterday. She explained that she had only just received my file back from the Committee. I'm from the UK and went to a UK Uni. I did not submit my application until the end of November so I am not sure in what order they are sifting through the applications. Congrats to the others, I will look forward to meeting you all sometime this year :)

It seems that more and more ppls are getting their offers. Start to worry.
And do you know how long does it take for Miss Wade to reply your e-mail? I have sent an e-mail to her asking for progress of my application last week but receive no reply yet.

I got the scholarship email too. My heart skipped a beat when I woke up this morning and saw that I had a new email because, with the time difference, any correspondence from Cambridge is most likely to arrive overnight. Imagine my disappointment when it wasn't an offer!
I'm in two minds about whether to apply or not. It's such an amazing scholarship that I feel it would be crazy not to. But, on the other hand, they only awarded three Australian scholarships last year for study in all of the UK. What makes me especially doubtful about my prospects is the fact that they say they're especially keen on applicants with a background in climate change and energy. My background isn't even tangentially relevant to either of those areas.
I haven't looked in detail at the application process yet, but I don't fancy writing 2,000 words and hassling my referees again for a scholarship I don't have a realistic chance at (especially when I don't even know yet whether I'll win a place to study in the UK!).
Though, from what other people have said the 2,000 words is meant to cover, it sounds as though it would be pretty easy to just plunder the responses we've already prepared for our Cambridge and Gates applications.

Anyone heard anything on this lonely friday? Im not sure I can deal with a weekend knowing that other offers are out there but mine is....um.....hasn't been sent yet.
Posted Feb 18, 2011 12:37
I haven't heard anything. Another weekend of waiting would be awful... I was convinced I was going to hear weeks ago!
Posted Feb 18, 2011 12:54
Same here, haven't heard anything! I don't think I've ever been this obsessive about checking my mails... And knowing that they've been sending out offers all this time (probably many more than we will have read about on llm guide) is making me really nervous...
However, I read on last year's forum that offers had also been sent out on Saturdays. So that would make it "just" one day of waiting (hoping that we will have heard by then...).
Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Still not heard anything either...
Anneka - Don't say that! It means I will be checking my emails obsessively even on Saturdays now :P
Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Haha, well since it appears they've significantly changed their admissions procedure since last year, they might even be giving out offers on Sundays this time...
No, sorry, I'm just hopelessly optimistic every time I check my mails that I'll finally find an e-mail from Ms Wade... ;-)
Let's just assume they don't work weekends/ after 6pm weekdays, this will keep us a bit more relaxed I hope!

I'm starting to get less optimistic as days go by and offers are sent to more and more people. :(
I just wish I knew whether they sent out offers in order of preference or randomly. If they do send offers first to students who are highly ranked by the Degree Committee, does that mean that the rest of us mortals need to face the fact that we stand no chance when it comes to scholarships?
p.s. Congrats to all those who got THE email!! :)

I presumme they sent out offers in order of preference (unfortunately)
From Cambridge's website:
"The LL.M. Admissions Committee considers applications in two stages. First, there is an initial screening of all applications. At this point, some applications that clearly do not meet the required academic standards will be rejected and a number of expedited offers will begin to be made to clearly outstanding applicants. Second, all remaining applications will be considered and RANKED AGAINST EACH OTHER so as to determine when an offer of an LL.M. place will be made.

Hello Everyone,
I hope there has been some Friday love from Cambridge :)
Can someone kindly give the details of this scholarship? (Either a link or if possible a message with the details). I have received no messages or updates on my Camsis regarding funding despite having an offer already and I am very keen to apply. I am an international student - is the scholarship limited to EU/UK nationals? Any help would be most appreciated.
Thank you!

I think (hope) that they're still in their first screening process. So I'm not sure it's done by preference within that. Fingers crossed anyway!!
