Ralph Wigg...

That would be professor Ibbetson e-mail... and as far as I know he is the Chair of the Law Faculty Board.

He is also one of my referees.... Last year I was waitlisted but I hadn't him as a referee... I hope this year will be better... Fingers crossed!!!

How did you get Professor Ibbetson to act as your referee?

I spent a research period under his supervision two years ago... And I asked him :) he is very kind and he is acting as my referee for many applications. As long as it concerns Cambridge, he said he plays no role in the admission process... So I think I shouldn't expect to get in just because he is one of my referees...

nope, it is not a personal email address the email was sent from, but a office one.

I spent three months working along with Prof Barnard (Cambridge) but when I asked her to act as one of my referee she told it is way better to ask that to someone who actually has known you during your Uni studies, which is much more valuable.

In other words, better a reference from a tutor of a not well known Uni rather than big names who don't know you that much...(and indeed I followed her suggestion and got an offer)...

Anyway you shouldn't worry too much: If I got in (and swear my CV is not a stellar one, average grades and some research experiences) everyone on here can make it!!!!

Nope I did not send my CV.

I meant to say that grades and experiences of mine they are aware of (ie which I mentioned in my application form) are not that special :)

Hi hopeLLM, thanks again for the sharing.

I am sure you have certain positive qualities that make you ahead the rest of us. Once again, congratulations and I guess all we can do now is to wait patiently ;-)

Hi guys,

My application still shows "Under Consideration by the Degree Committee", although if I understand correctly from the posts where people have already been made an offer, this still hasn't changed for them? As a result, I wouldn't rely on that status - just wait, pray and hope for a nice email!

My camsis states that my applications are still "Under Consideration by the Degree Committee" (has been quite a long time, actually)... Yeah, we have to wait, pray and hope! :)

Read a post stating that generally cambridge does not consider applicants with less than 80% .Any idea if this is true?

Congratulations from me as well! It is somewhat bad news for us, since another spot has been filled up. On the other hand, they are at least making decisions these days :)
