Thanks G3, I truly hope for you that this is true. (Based on my experience, however, I would not rely on it.)

Apologies for being repetitive, but I was informed by Ms Wade on 14 April (without having asked for it) that I would learn about the outcome of my application on 23 April AT THE LATEST.
Anybody else freaking out just now?
Lucky that you at least received an email on 14th; I did not even receive that email.
When I made a post-14th inquiry, she replied with the same email which others have also received for letting her know if you are pursuing LLM somewhere else.
I will be happy to wait if they are still considering my application, but just hope that the latter email is not sent regardless of whether the application has already been rejected.

since the email you mention was adressed personally, i would guess that it means our application is still being considered.
on the other hand: anyone who already got a rejection?
i really hope the long wait pays off in the end :)
and since ms wade asked for notification until the 26th, my guess is we can expect the final decision until early next week!

Well, finally got tired of waiting and decided to face the truth by giving the much feared call to Ms. Wade. As everyone as stated, she was very helpful, and after taking a couple of minutes, informed me that the Committee had made a decision but apparently my application was unsuccessful...
Can't say I didn't expect that, but the "emotional" disappointment can't be avoided! Glad the waiting is over, though, and I can now fully focus in my local scholarship application to fund UCL!
Hello gents! Just following up on my last email, today I checked my camsys and it read "application unsuccessful". At this point it doesn't mean much, but I am glad that after more than 6 months of utter agony, I FINALLY HAVE SOME CLOSURE!!!
On a side note, and having applied to 5 different universities, this it BY FAR the very, very worst of application processes out there. Truly cannot believe that a University as prestigious as Cambridge, with over 7 centuries of tradition and excellence, is unable (or unwilling) to improve an admission process that could very well be as old as its foundation...!!!
Best of luck to you all, I'm pretty sure in the end we'll all have a terrific experience in the UK!

Hey Wolfenix,
At this point I'd say you're lucky to know. Also, not sure why some people's Camsis are getting updated and not others. I haven't heard a word about Cam yet, but I too have been accepted to UCL. Perhaps I will see you there in the fall. Sooooo not looking forward to paying $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for rent though!

Unfortunately, I can't take up my place this year and therefore applied for a deferral. I was told I would receive a decision within more or less a week.
6 weeks have passed and despite two follow-up phone calls, I am still waiting.
I just wanted to know whether anyone else applied for deferrals or has experience with deferrals at Cambridge in general? On the website it did not specify under which circumstances a deferral would be granted.

Hi Mitzi, indeed it was a relief to finally know something for sure!! Certainty is very much appreciated, especially when you have to plan for a LOAD of other issues when moving to another country (in my case, from Chile)...! So yes, I am glad to be able to focus completely in my enrollment in UCL, which I am sure will be just as awesome!!!
Rent, as you say, is SCARY in London... but I guess it's the price you have to pay for living in the greatest city in the world!

How many of you wake up every day to check if you have an overnight e-mail from Cambridge, just to find out that you've received nothing.... for the past 6 months?

Hi everyone!
As most of you, I am baffled by the way this admission process has been going on. Just so you know, I managed to get hold of someone on the phone two days ago (I am not sure it was S. Wade): she told me that she would send me an email during the day regarding the outcome of my applications, but so far...no answer.
This happened after I received the infamous email saying that we were supposed to get a definitive answer on the 23rd at the latest.
I really don't know what is the cause of the dysfunctionning, and though I don't want to shoot the messenger, I think it is highly unprofessional from them to make promises that they don't keep (how ironical from the admission office of a law department!)...

What are you on about lads?
They've probably got thousands of applications to look through and it's not as if a senior academic at one of the world's best universities is going to have reading some spastic's musings about studying law at Cambridge as his or her main priority.
Naturally if you've applied to the University of Kevin Keegan they'll write back to you in a few hours as they're eager to fill their places but there's absolutely no reason for Cambridge to rush things considering they're always going to fill theirs.
It's what it is.

Chavy is probably some one from the admissions department in disguies. Please accept me!!!!

Nah I'm not.
I don't get it though it's not as if your fifty quid is going to make anyone there give two poops about you being desperate to go to their university.

I got a conditional offer today! Actually I had lost faith in ever getting the e-mail from Ms Wade. I am from Denmark by the way.
The best of luck to those of you who are still waiting!

I agree. He totally is. I think a lot of people just had Cambridge as an end goal and this was the motivation behind years of working their behinds off to get a first class. I know it inspired me and finally in my final year I am heading into exams with a first overall. I did an undergrad before my LL.B. and I can tell you I worked twice as hard for half the reward during my time studying law.
The terms this person is using - "lads" and "quid" sound Irish to me.

Not sure why you deemed it appropriate to make wild speculations about his nationality, however ill-judged his comments might be. Not harbouring some kind of prejudice about my compatriots I hope?

HA! Get the chip off your shoulder. I am prejudicial towards your compatriots - I am married to one.
I only wanted to let this troll know that we are not as anonymous as we think we are when posting nasty comments under false names.

Ha, having a chip on our shoulders is time-honoured tradition of ours ;)
'Quid' and 'lads' are fairly common parlance both in Ireland and in the UK.
I grew up splitting my time fairly evenly between the two.

As for the nasty comments, don't be too hard!
I think he was having a go at what we call 'repartee' or 'banter'. Good natured, barbed but witty conversation.
