Go to QMUL - it's part of the prestigious Uni. of London, and has very established LLM programme, with a 5* RAE rating.

Compare QMUL's law faculty to City's.

I don't like to use (nor trust) university rankings from British newspapers, but if you look at the 2009 Times league table, QMUL is 12th, City is 36th...that's quite a marked difference.

Hi

I've also got an offer from City and Queen Mary and i would really appreciate if someone who has attended one or the other could share his thoughts with me.
Also, have the job prospects been altered by the economic crisis?
Thank you

I made an LLM at City. Apart from the great experiece, it was a very good LLM, especially the courses related to competition law. Moreover, the professors are very co-operative and the uni offers great carrier prospects and lot of interships.
As far as your concerns for job prospects are concerned, i have to say that when there is a will, there is always a way.
Good luck with your LLM

If anybody is looking for translating LLM into job opening in law firm; i would strongly recommend gong for either KCL or LSE.

City Uni is known for Cass Business School, and not for Law at all. City LLM wouldn't help you in any way....it's the branding which is gonna tilt the scales - think from employer's perspective!

Will leave it to the better judgment of people on this forum....

Best of luck!

I don't dunno exacly what to do...? I am completely confused.
I have applied to all Universities for Commercial / Corporate Law Programmes:

I have recieved an unconditional offer from
(i) Glasgow University
(ii) City University
(iii) Nottingham Trent University
(iv) Kent University

But City is asking me to pay a non-refundable deposit of £750 for registration within the next 3 weeks.

And UCL, KCL have not yet replied

I will just give you the average ranking of both Universities and then you can decide for yourself.

In case of Overall ranking
QMUL = 12.3
City University = 20

In case of Job prospects it is ranking as
QMUL= 21
City University = 6

In case of Add. services
QMUL = 7/10
City University = 10/10

therefore, i am perfering City University over QMUL any day..!!

Also, my special experience QMUL's administration is useless....they won't reply to you for months and months...!
By the time they solve your query you can visit QMUL personal atleast 10 times and ask them 10 questions...!! So I personally dont prefer qmul at all...!
