Hello everybody. I am from Moscow. This year I finish my studying in Moscow State Institute of International Relations(University). I want to continue my law education in England.
I sent my documents to Queen Mary. I have some questions?
Is queen mary a good place for getting LLM?
Is it difficult for foreign student to get a place there?
What are the differences of queen mary from other law schools?

I don't get it. Am I simply that stupid or what? On the QM website, the LLM year planner for 2008 says:
" * Term One: 29 September- 12 December 2008
The first term comprises 11 weeks of teaching. During this period you will be attending lectures and tutorials. By the middle of October you will need to indicate your final choice of the 3 taught courses elements of your LLM.
At this stage you can opt for a General or Specialised LLM which will depend on your choice of classes. The LLM Administrator will assist you with this process."
So I had to choose my specialization before my application or during first period of study????
I send my application for LLM and stated my favorite specialization only in my SoP. Look like that's for my LLM in QM. **** happens.
I wish You guys more luck :)

Hi all,
any news from Queen Mary? I have sent my application by post two weeks ago and gave them a call today and they said that decision will be made in a month or so. Have applied for Public International Law
I'm in the same situation, my application was received on January 12th but they came back to work on the 5th, I have emailed them at least 5 times in the last 2 weeks asking them if they could acknowledge the receipt of my application, without any answer whatsoever, has "Tamar" or anyone else received anything from QM? Is this normal? Because the Admissions Team in KCL takes no more than one day in answering emails.

Yes this is very normal. Dont write too many emails because it wont make much of a difference. I had to write them an email to ask the status of my application on January 10because they acknowledged my application on November 13. They answered the email like two weeks after and they confirm I had a conditional offer and then i requested them to please attach a copy of the offer letter because i had some scholarship deadline and they did the following day.
If you are concerned then call them directly!
Good luck :)

According to the Queen Mary site:
"""Q: What is the deadline for applying?
Due to the vast number of applications we receive for this competitive course, the deadline for applying for the LLM is the July 1, 2009."""
also from the site:
"Q: I wish to check on the progress of my application. who do I contact?
Please email the college Admissions Office - Jenny, Sam or Sonia will be able to assist you."
Jenny, Sam, Sonia are you there?? Hello?

Wow, thank you very much.
So, usually they answer you in 2-3 weeks from your application sent?

According to other posts and my own personal experience, it is much more than that, at least two months since the date that they receive your application. I sent mine on Jan 12th and still no confirmation email. Good Luck on your application.

Yes they usually answer after three weeks from the receipt of application. I sent my application by courier and it had been handled on January 2. I called in Queen Mary in January 10 and they told me that had received my application but they sent me acknowledgment e-mail only on January 27th and I was in shock :D)) That's how it goes in QMUL :D So i guess we'll have to wait for admissions decision even longer !.

That's Jenny's email and she was very kind to me. You may try this one.
Just have patience, they are dealing with a lot of applications so just wait a little longer,,after like one month and a half after their acknowledgement then you may contact them.
Good luck :)

Thank you all for your answers!
What do you think about this LLM(I am talking about Intl Public Law, Law and Development, Human Rights)? Is it well considered? Does it gives you then some interesting links for job/internship?
Anyway, good luck to everybody :-)

I also sent all my documents to QUEEN MARY two weeks ago(my application was registered in december) and did not get any news from them.
And is queen mary a good place for getting LLM? Is it a famous law school? I am from Russia, from Moscow State Institute of International Relations(University) of Russian Ministery for foreign affairs.
And what are the differences between QUEEN MARY, Kings Colleage, SOAS, LSE, UCL?
Do they give the same diplomas of University of London or they give different diplomas?

As far as I know Queen Mary is a good place only if you practice Intellectual Property Law. LSE is the best school among those you have mentioned.

As PUCCA suggested I wrote to Jenny in admissions and she told me that my application was logged in the system on feb 5th, so I guess the rest of you should be receiving acknowledgment emails shortly. (I submitted my application on Jan 12th) she said that I would take around 4 weeks to reach a decision on my application. Good luck to all of you!!
