For Banking, Finance relevant areas, Durham, Nottingham, City Business schools are better options. These universities also come under top 100 in world ranking. However, it will be very competitive to get admission in these institutions.
Good Luck

studentsolution: you mean for an LLM in banking and Finance??
Posted Jan 09, 2009 22:16
I think the previous poster is referring to Msc qualifications because he/she states they are based in the relevant business schools.

i see someone has asked abt how QM is or banking and finance.. i would say very good. It has top faculty. Prof Rosa Lastra and Prof George Walker are such names that are renowned in this field all over the world.
It would be foolish to compare a london university with any other uni outside london. trust me on that one. The exposure and experience that you gain studying here in london, the hub, is something that cannot be expressed.

Hi,
this is somewhat off topic - but I'll ask anyway... I was going through the documnt checklist of the application form and it says we have to enclose a transcript of our degree(s). I know (at least I think I do) what a degree is, but I read on the llm-guide.com site that a transcript of one's grades should also be enclosed. I don't want to enclose too many documents... So did you enclose just a copy of your bachelor's degree or anything else too (bar exam certificate, copy of your marks).
Thank you very much for your answers :-)

PLEASE DONT YOU DARE NOT SENDING YOUR GRADES! This is very important yes. You have to enclose your official transcripts either original or certified copies and of course the translation into english thereof. My transcripts had like 4 pages and they were original ones. I just asked for them at the law faculty and paid for it. I also enclosed the translation of the trascripts.

Clarissa, i think the following is what counts :
1. overall good grades
2. very good/excellent grades at undergrad level in the subjects i which u want to do a specialist LLM
2. if possible, good recommendation letters from the professors who taught u the above
3. a focussed statement ofpurpose
4. a good dose of luck
cheers!
try Kings and MIPLC also for IP
