Oxford DPhil and Clarendon Scholarship 2021-22

I’ve heard that Oxford DPhil results will come out by the end of this week from the Law Faculty.
Anyone obtained Clarendon scholarship before for Oxford DPhil in law? Any selection criteria apart from those on the website already?

You can just check for DPhils in law on their own list of scholars per academic year: https://www.ox.ac.uk/clarendon/scholar-class-lists

As for the second question, these things are generally not publicly available beyond what is stated on their own pages. Do the exact requirements matter, though? The Oxford Dphil application is a 600-word research proposal and writing sample with no personal statements or scholarship statements attached. Since all applicants are automatically considered with no additional info, the Clarendon is even more out of your control than other scholarship applications. You will just have to wait and see.

Are you still able to upload documents on your application portal?

I think you can, but there's no guarantee they'll consider them.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I wanted to know if your "upload button" disappeared or not - if it did, it means that a decision on your application has been reached. I have heard that for many PhD in Law applicants the button disappeared today.

Oh yeah, that makes sense. My button is gone too. I applied for the MPhil, though, because it felt like the safer shot.

Unrelated question, anybody else found the 600 word limit on the research proposal to be unreasonably stringent?

Does anyone mind sharing what are their profiles like when they applied for the dphil?

I don't remember how the profile looked like when I applied, but if I access my "supporting documents" page today, I can select "Transcript" and "English language test results" (where it says (or, probably in your case, said) "Please select") and press the button "Upload", which is still there in my case.

A first class on the LLB is mandatory and I have heard before you have to place in the top 5% as a minimum

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't think the success of the application will be determined by the graduation grade or class rank, but rather by the research project - considering that probably almost everyone who applies to Oxford graduated from top schools with honors (at least).
