I called Ms. Wade last Thursday and she said my application was yet to be considered by the selectors. She also mentioned that the selectors were meeting on Friday and that offers will be made throughout the following weeks.. so I am guessing they make decisions in batches although I am not 100% sure about the regional theory..

This leads me to believe that there is no such thing as excellent candidates. How can they decide who are excellent if they don't look at all of them before?
Or has another board looked at the applications before it comes before the 'selectors'? In that case the first board might send the excellent ones through first..

I'm so uninformed !! :)

Well according to the website they did say they do an initial screening of the applications, so I'm guessing that it's like what you said they will refer the exceptional ones to the selection committee first. The rest are then pit against each other and considered subsequently. Oh well I guess it's no use speculating now, better get back to my essays!

I had called her up too and i was told that my application was going to be taken up on Thursday/Friday (the one that has gone by). Itching to know the outcome..

Good sign. I expect an offer for you this week or the week after...

well, I might have been rejected in Jan....who knows.
On Friday goes another round of stress... Haha, now I'm actually praying to see "Applicant":)

lustitia, may i know which country are you from? I'm really starting to worry about this "regional offer" theory :S

Croatia. I bet there aren't many candidates from my country, so I'm rather unsure how to interpret this "regional offer" in my case...maybe like this- croatia is near to Italy, and one Italian has already been accepted. thus, I'm not? haha...I don't know.......what do you think?

Well if the regional offer theory actually stands I don't think you have much to worry about since you haven't heard of any Croatians being made an offer yet, have you? I think you're still on the safe side. I on the other hand is starting to look very worrying indeed!

Thanks for the heads-up Angelnel. Hmmm perhaps I should call Suzanne as well haha.

no, I haven't heard of such cases....but then again, I don't know any other applicants from my country... you shouldn't be worried, Nerxiz! even if the regional theory really stands, that doesn't mean anything, because there are many more offers to be made in the second round, besides the ones to the candidates from the remaining regions. and that's for sure.

you're the voice of reason, thank you..
I was already starting to make some theories of my own...like, they hate us Croatians because we play better football haha :) God, that was desperate.

Great going Caribbeanstar, another of our silent but long enduring friends has got the good news..

Where do you put your regional affiliation..? North America or UK/Europe.. I know geographically it is North America, but historically, The Caribbean has been treated with quite a semblance of affinity by the English.

Thanks!

I've never actually heard of us being regionally categorised with Europe, more like Central and South America..

I haven't been on here in awhile .. but I think if I had been reading all these posts about your early offers I would have been having some sleepless nights... All along I have been acting under the misconception that no offers were made before March...!

Go figure..

haha, that's what I'm talking about. One loses his mind while waiting and comes up with a lot of stupid ideas, such as this. I'm okay now, no more crazy assumptions, I promise;)
