It's the date after which we would start to hear from them.

How quickly can I expect to hear?

The admissions process is complex and can take some time. We have many applications to read and compare. You can expect to hear from the Faculty by the end of March. College decisions may take around six to eight weeks more.

I got a similar letter some time ago. I already submitted my application and was waiting for one more reference at that time. The letter stated that they received my application but that one reference was still missing (which I knew).
Later that reference was submitted and all my references were received according to the electronic application system.
After that: no more news.

I haven't recieved any e-mail.

My references had reached much before I submitted my online application. I e-mailed them to ask whether they had recieved the references and recieved an answer in affirmative (by e-mail).

Then 2 weeks later I recieved a letter (by normal mail) stating that my references were missing and I sould hurry. That was during the new year holidays and I had to wait for around a week before I could contact them.

On 5th I wrote an e-mail stating the contents of the 1st e-mail and the letter. They got back saying the letter was sent in due course (which they send to all) and that my references were there and that I can relax (but they said I can relax only after 23rd Jan!!!)..

So if you have any doubts, why not mail the Graduate Admissions Office?

What about the date of the letter? Mine was dated before my last reference went in.

I think it's safe to ignore it as long as everything is complete as stated in your online application.

yes, just the one saying that one reference was still missing. After that one reference was submitted, there was radio silence: no letter confirming that all the materials were in, no e-mail confirming that I'm being considered,..
