Oxford 2023-2024 BCL/MSCs/MJUR/MPHIL/MLF Applicants

Templeman2...

Why I ask is because after receiving back my Subject Access Request, it is mentioned that my overall application grade was an "A2", which I have no clue what it means

My referees were ranked as 5/10/10. Again, no clue what it means either.

There is no ranking for references; they are all considered equally.

Guys,
Does anyone have any information on how Oxford
1. Grades referees?
2. Grades overall application?

Just ask the Subject Access Request (SAR) team what those numbers and what "A2" means. I haven't made SARs with Oxford specifically but surely the SAR team should give you a sheet or something explaining all of the acronyms that they use.

Yeah I would do that as well

Hi Everyone,

Congratulations to all offer-holders, and condolences to all those not fortunate enough this time round.

As a rejectee myself, I'm just wondering about what this whole Subject Access Request provides, and what it entails.

Is it a way of seeing how our applications were scored/assessed? Thanks!

I got an offer from Balliol that I accepted last week.

Q: Is anyone a Chevening Scholar here and is in trouble with the visa status?

Thanks!

I mean based on the fact that we haven't heard of any replies yet, I'm assuming they haven't been given out yet.

Has anyone else done the BCL/MJur non-full funding awards form that was due on the 16th April? I'm assuming since that was 3 days ago, they won't be announcing the financial needs scholarships anytime soon.

Anyone heard back from Magdalen by any chance?

Yes, I’ve been accepted to Magdalen.

Congrats!  Did you hear back recently?

Based on what I can tell from here there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern to when colleges decide but would be good to have the information.

Thank you! I’m sorry, I just saw this. I heard back in early April.

Any rejection email today? Or its radio silent for you guys as it is for me?

I hope the wait isn’t stressing you out too much… I totally understand how horrible oblivion can feel. Try not to think about it and focus on something else. It’s not worth worrying over.

Thank you for your kind words. I am trying not to stress myself out i hope you are keeping well in this wait as well

This might be me being paranoid but we didn't have to do anything to accept our offers besides email the program contact, right?? In the offer letter it was like "according to the instructions below" but there were no instructions, just the contact, so I assumed...but want to make sure I don't inadvertently screw myself over haha. Thank you all!!!

Hey there! My Certificate of Offer instructed me to send over copies of my transcripts, pay a deposit, and complete a criminal convictions declaration. I did all that and just emailed the program director to confirm that my offer has been accepted and my position is now secured. Maybe you should just email the program director to ensure you're good to go (and put yourself at ease)?

Thank you so much! I didn't see a deposit in mine but that may be because I'll be in the DPhil program. But you're right I should just email her and put my mind at ease :) Thank you!

A lot of people have said that they have received an email today (11th May) on whether they were successful or not on getting the non-full funding (needs-based) bursary for the BCL/MJur:

One month ago (11th April), I mentioned I received a partial College scholarship.

Quick question about waitlists - when do they close and would there be much movement from now to late July?

Am waiting for an update on the IHR MSc

hello, fellow waitlisters here. Just received an email for the MLF programme that the deadline for MLF offer-holders to pay the MLF deposit has now passed. You will be asked whether you want to remain on the waitlist.

Just wondering if anybody knows whether there is still any hope?

Just received the MLF waitlist mail as well. Have they actually sent out any offers to waitlisted candidates recently, and receiving the mail means that we were lower on the list?

I received the same email and I think it’s just MLF’s protocol to keep a waiting list. The class size is small and I have never heard that anyone got off the MLF waiting list. So sad to say, but do not keep your hopes high.
