Oxford 2023-2024 BCL/MSCs/MJUR/MPHIL/MLF Applicants

Zephyrus

Here are the decision release dates for the MJur for the past 7 years, which I got from older threads:

16/3/16
16/3/17
15/3/18
20/3/19
19/3/20
19/3/21
17/3/22

Observations:
1) The application deadline was always on the Friday of the 3rd week of January and results were always released between Wednesday and Friday on the 3rd week of March, 7th week after the deadline.
2) BCL results were either released on the same day, or one day before the MJur.
3) MLF results were always released roughly one week before BCL/MJur decisions.
4) In 2017, the deadline was 20 January, just like 2023, and results were out on Thursday, 16 March.

Conclusions:
1) The Faculty releases BCL/MJur decisions no later than 8 weeks after the application deadline.
2) We should expect to receive BCL/MJur decisions on or after 15 March, but no later than 17 March.
3) We should expect MLF results to be out between 8 and 10 March.

Also: as to the "magic button", if you open the GASS, go to your course application, click on the "View Applicant Self Service Guide" button, and then on the tab "Supporting Documents", you'll see that "Once a decision has been made on your application, no further documents can be uploaded".

This means that the upload button will disappear when they make a decision, but they might make the decision and not mark it as such on the web platform. So, if your button disappears, it means that they have made a decision on your application. But if it doesn't, you just can't conclude anything.

Hope this helps.

I hope offers will be made by tomorrow 1f642 (March 15)

I wonder how the Faculty will be handling offers in the coming week considering that there is planned UCU strike action from tomorrow (15 March) until next Wednesday (22 March). Also have my doubts about them processing applications after COB

Okay! Thank you :)
Are you applying for MJur as well?

I said above that my BCL button disappeared today. I checked only after COB today and last I checked was yesterday.

Good morning. I mean it's 8 a.m. in my country.

I think BCL applicants whose buttons haven't vanished can expect them to disappear today. Still having button is not a bad sign! Besides, the disappearance just indicates that the decision is ready. It can be an offer or a rejection. (based on MLF situation)

My guess is they will send out offers for Mjur today; meanwhile, the magic button for BCLs will start vanishing. The BCLs are likely to get offers tomorrow (16 March) while rejections for Mjurs start sending out. Or they might send out rejections for both Mjur and BCL on Friday. (The infamous 2 a.m. rejections)

I'm rooting for all of you! Everyone is brilliant, decent, and supportive. It will definitely create nice environment in classes academically and socially. I wish I could join you guys. 1f622

I'm deliberately resisting the temptation to check the button. Have enough anxiety from waiting already, I don't need to exacerbate it further knowing whether a button has disappeared or not.

Fully endorse this! I wish I hadn't checked this forum this evening to see all the BCL news but I figured that nothing would really have happened after COB.

I am an international student and I still have my button.

Not going to lie, my heart sank when I saw that my button was still there but your comment just made me feel so much better about myself. I hope everyone in this thread makes it somehow.

Is early disappearance of the magic button considered a positive sign in most cases?

What is this “sleep” you mention? Some kind of magic McGuffin?

Do they usually send out offers in the morning or afternoon?
