I emailed graduate.enquiries@law.ox.ac.uk, and they replied quickly, "Unfortunately your application for the MJur was not successful. You will receive an official email from Graduate admissions in the next few days."Fortunately, no wait anymore.

Thanks for sharing, I’m certain that I’d get the same answer if I emailed them. We had some good laughs here, wish you the best in your careers!

I find this hilarious. Honestly guys, I'm sure you all have great pedigree and it's a loss to Oxford, especially if they treat you like that. I haven't heard back either so I'll count myself into that statement, though I'm not really mad as I wasn't very keen on paying 40 grand for a year of classes anyways. To those who are sad, keep your heads up - I wasn't accepted into my "ivy-league" dream uni for undergrad and in hindsight I am eternally grateful for that. Who knows what might come from this non-communicated rejection 1f605

My comment was mainly directed at @jsl65, who said the entire BCL admissions process was ‘bent’ because they didn’t get accepted with their PhD. I’m sure everyone in this forum is incredibly accomplished with first class degrees and accolades. I just found the presumption of superiority due to an applicant holding a PhD to be both arrogant and immature.
Who knows for what reason some candidates ultimately get accepted over others, but I see the age range for the BCL class last year was 21-41, so it doesn’t seem like applicants are being filtered out based on age.

I agree, this radio silence has generated a lot of frustration because it actually speaks loads about Oxford’s attitude toward rejected students. And I am disappointed because I thought Oxford is the pinnacle of professionalism.

And I see your point @DM98105, of course having a PhD does not equal automatic acceptance. But when it comes to grades, I do not think most people here graduated with anything less that a first, as that is explicitly required by the admissions. I graduated top of my class at Sapienza (as an Italian that was the best I can do and I adore and respect my Uni), but again I can see why some tutors would prefer younger applicants or look out for some subtle signs someone’s more suited for their MJur course for whatever reason.
My assumption is premised on the fact that the three best LLMs in the world are Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge.
To be fair, you don’t see the same level of frustration on all other different Universities’ LLM admissions thread, therefore implying there indeed was a problem with Oxford’s handling of admissions this year. Granted covid did mess things up a little, but still the fact that the Oxford thread has generated so much discontent and unhappiness speak volumes. Compared to the Cambridge and Harvard threads, the Oxford one has so much misgivings.

If anything, I myself ranked 1st on the LLB cohort, had a masters from Cambridge, topped the bar examinations and was rejected!

I just received my regret email too. Hopefully it means everyone has heard back. All the best for everyone’s non-Oxford endeavours, wherever they are :)

Finally got my very own regret email...

Anyway, it was nice to meet you and be anxious about this whole procedure together. I'm sure you are all set to do great things despite this minor setback :)

All the best to both those who were accepted and those who fell victim to the button of despair!

Hey everyone, I am a long-time lurker. I applied for the LLM at the University of Cambridge and the BCL at the University of Oxford. Unfortunately, I did not get accepted into either programme. I got my rejection for the BCL at 02:15 am GMT today (Friday 26th March 2021). As with other people who got rejected, I am absolutely devastated and quite depressed. However, reading some of the lovely and uplifting posts on this thread and the Cambridge one has cheered me up and I am eager to apply again next academic year. It just wasn't my year, and that goes the same for everyone else who was rejected.

To the people who received offers: WELL DONE!!! You should be so proud of yourselves and I really hope that you have a fantastic time at Oxford. You all deserve it so much :)

To the people who were rejected, I wanted to ask whether any of you would be interested in setting up a LinkedIn or Whatsapp group where we could share our backgrounds and applications with each other, and work together to make our applications stronger for next year? Just a thought!

Stay safe everyone and I hope that you are all well regardless of the outcome of your applications :)
