Don't be disheartened, your application will only be stronger next time around with more experience and extra curricular achievements under your belt.
Did they specifically tell you it was because of your LLB marks?

Hey, everyone. I had applied to the L.S.E and to NYU@NUS this year. I had completed my application in mid- October for both these courses. However, i have still not recieved any replies from both these places.
Have either of these institutions started declaring the results? Has the L.S.E started declaring the acceptances yet? I am just a bit confused because the L.S.E website mentioned that admissions would be on a rolling basis and so i was expecting a quicker reply. The NYU website especially, says that offers for the NYU@NUS course would be declared from the month of november!
It has been a long time since I applied and i am starting to lose hopw now. I don't know what to make of this long wait, esp. with reard to the L.S.E.

LSE took me quite some time to receive. November/early-December, I think, is quite early to expect a response. I wouldn't anticipate hearing anything until at least January or February.

Posted Dec 04, 2009 12:19
sorry to hear that beicon, when did you apply?
Posted Dec 04, 2009 12:33
shit man, that sucks.
Posted Dec 04, 2009 13:14
Hey beicon I know ur sad....don't worry i've been through it....But had a strong feeling i was gonna be rejected due to my low grades. There's no good in crying over spilled milk.. All the best at UCL...

I applied during the second week of October... it sucks!!! At least I'd had received UCL and KCL's offers before that... otherwise I'd be pulling my eyes out...

UCL and KCL are great admissions.

Sorry to hear that vidyaju & beicon, but did they told you specifically on which grounds they have rejected your applications? any feedback or anything like that ?

No they didn't. Basically, they just said: competition is tough and so is life... sorry and see ya!!!

hey everyone,
by way of an update, i spoke to the graduate admissions office at the lse yesterday, and was informed that they have yet to make any offers to llm applicants and that we should expect to hear from them circa january.
this of course does not explain how certain amongst us have already been notified of the lse's decisions regarding their applications...
good luck!

if you have an offer from UCL, I wouldn't shed many tears over a rejection from LSE. The difference is not tremendous. I did my undergrad at LSE and if I were to apply for London LLMs I'd probably go for UCL over LSE for variety. I think both UCL and LSE are in a slightly different tier from KCL, unless you have a very specific concentration in mind (maybe this is university of london snobbery, though :P )

Thanks lextra... in fact, I haven't shed a single tear at all. I don't know why, but I always felt I'd end up being rejected by LSE... that's why I really wasn't sad when they kicked my ass. I never thought I'd be rejected by Edinburgh or Nottingham and when they said no that really upset me. But now I'm utterly happy at my UCL offer and although I look forward to hearing from Oxbridge I'm getting used to the idea of moving to London next year.
