Yes, as I understand that the "*CLOSE" sing means that LSE is now not considering any applications from "home" students (both for part time and for full time programs)...
Check explanations from: http://www.lse.ac.uk/collections/graduateAdmissions/apply/availabilityOfProgrammes2008-9.htm
"... Submitting an application before a programme is listed as closed does not guarantee that your application will be considered.
If you submit your application but the programme closes before you can be considered, you will have the option to choose an alternative choice which is still available - we will let you know how to do this at the time..."
I read in last year's board that some people called admission department and only after that their status in the online tracking system was changed... so you probably have to call them and find out.
Good luck.

Thanks Mariarti for your response.
As for the "duello" between TOEFL and IELTS, does anyone know a website to see the type of execerises that one is required to do for the IELTS?
thanks

I have also seen that they have closed the programme for home applicants, what is that suppose to mean... that they are not admitting more home/EU students or that they are not considering anymore applications from these?
I applied on January 30th and heard nothing yet...
what's happening?
Hello all, I just called the admissions office and I was told that if you are already under consideration the official closure does not apply to you. I feel much better now, but it also means there will still be some time to wait.
Good luck to you all

Still nothing. I wake up in the morning and the first thought that comes to my mind is... LSE, track your application...
in order to relax a little, how long does it take for them to make a decision?
I think I submitted my application January 30th though my second referee posted his recommendation as late as Februaru 8th -I ackowledge I have fewer chances to get in since it was, maybe, too late-
When do you think I should expect a response?
Thanks

Hello all,
is there any progress with LSE applications? It seems that it has been a long time since someone got an offer. And now they closed for Easter!
to yaiza242:
I submitted my application on 18th jan. and received the online tracking system access on 6th feb.. I would say 8 weeks of consideration so for me it would be the first week of march? I guess for you yaiza242 it then should be the following weeks.
Good luck to all those who are still waiting and Happy Easter!

Hi thumy,
no, sorry. No news at all.
I applied on 15 January and recieved access to online tracking on 22 January. But it does not matter. 8 weeks term starts only when you receive notice that all related documentation is complete. You have to reread message from them.
I does not matter when you applied and submitted you application, until all docs (i.e. two references, transcrip etc) were received.
Have you sent them all documents in January?
Yes, currently they are closed for Easter break. And I think that will restart sending offers after 25 March...
Good luck.

Hi Maria,
my application was complete on 18. Jan, including the online references.
When do you expect your decision?

Thumy,
My 8th week would be next week. Though if you applied earlier and did not get a response... I think that it will be issued in 2 or 3 weeks. As I have noticed this year decisions are issued in 10 or 11 weeks.
So be pasient...
Whom are you going to choose if you take all offers?
Best,
Maria

Hey Maria,
I think it is a hard decision! LSE seems to have the best reputation all over Europe, but it is also the most expensive one. Between UCL and KCL I don't see much difference, I will check courses again and maybe decide on that. I heard from a student that UCL is situated very well in London and has als pretty good accommodation opportunities. KCL's accommodation is mostly situated near Waterloo? So maybe that makes a point for UCL. I'm thinking about asking some lawyers of the law firm I'm working, maybe I will get some advice.
Have you already chosen?
Regards, Kathi

Currently I am thinking of UCL... I am getting tired of waiting for LSE. And I do not know about LSE accomodations, as I have read they do not provide it to all students...
So we will see.
Probably, if I get this offer it will be a difficult decision. But it was easy for me to choose UCL and to put down King's...
LSE is good and one of the best law schools, though I do like to plan strictly and not to wait until July...
Best,
Maria

I applied to the LSE and UCL at the beginning of March. UCL have told me that they are still happily considering applications - I also find it quite interesting that they have now REMOVED the 30 March deadline date from their "How to Apply" section on the website.
I explained that I have recently completed the GDL course in London and that before that I had a 2:1 from my first degree. LSE were also very interested and agreed to consider my application despite it being late. I am starting to wonder how difficult admission really is. But I suppose time will tell when I get replies!

Finally received an unconditional offer from LSE, now waiting for Cantab, fingers crossed....

Finally! I too received an offer from LSE today...
Posted Mar 26, 2008 15:16
Congratulations! Are offers send out by email or can you only check over the online tracker?
Thanks
Thanks
Posted Mar 26, 2008 15:23
I did not get an e-mail, so I guess that means you can only chech your application status over the online tracker. However, you get the offer by regular mail, but it is stated that this takes approx. 28 days..

Congratulation with offers!
Bush: and how many weeks did it take them to make a decision (from the time you completed your appliction to the actual admission)?
THANKS.

I submitted my complete application on November the 21st.. However, I was classified as an overseas resident. This may have slowed the process down a bit.
