From what I understand from previous years’ posts, your status will either change to “awaiting approval” by the GAO committee (in which case there’s a good chance you’ve gotten in) or it goes straight to rejection. But yes, you should see the portal change before any email notification.

I have a completely different query. Does Cambridge prefer applicants with work experience? I have approximately 2.5 years of work ex as an antitrust attorney. Just curious.

On their website they say that applications as assessed based on academic merit so I am not quite sure!

I do know that, my point being if they prefer people with work ex more or not over and above academic merit. Does that play any role at all.

I received the previous email just after applying as well.

This is the mail I received today : "Dear applicant

Thank you for submitting or beginning your application to the University of Cambridge. The University is always looking to improve the postgraduate application experience it provides. To help us achieve this, we would love to hear your feedback on your journey towards submitting or beginning your application for Postgraduate Study at Cambridge. The results of this survey will be shared with Graduate Admissions and Student Recruitment teams."

Yes, I might contact the GAO to make sure that the email really came from them before answering.

Another strange thing is that the mail also states that "Surveys submitted by midnight on Friday 28 February 2020 will be entered into the prize draw to win x3 £50 Love2shop vouchers."
