HELP ME PLEASE!
I am a prospective LLM student at UCL, holding a place there since September 2008 - I decided quite late on to defer my entry, as I had just graduated from a 4 year LLB and wanted to travel, work, teach etc etc.
But now I'm bricking it - should I really do this qualification, or should I just apply to the LPC?
I really am wishing to sit the LLM at UCL because it would be a great opportunity academically and hopefully career wise, but I am apprehensive. I will have to take a bank loan out for the LLM from the RBS, and I remain worried about my chances of acquiring a job afterwards that wouldn't just pay in chocolate buttons so I could afford loan repayments! Ideally, I'd love to do both one after the other, but in the UK, it's a s**t load of money and unless I could get funding through a training contract, I'd be stuck for god knows how long!
Is an LLM worth it? PLEASE HELP!!!

hi Chris, I appreciate your point and the problem you're into. I'm currently working in London and trust me, the economy is doing very very bad - seriously bad. I wont be amazed if you have seriously difficulties in finding a job because good law firms have been the first ones to make redundancies here and I dont see things improving at least in 2009. Moreover, it is going to be difficult for trainees as they mean a lot of investment for any firm. I am not sure where you're from but you would have to do LPC / QLTT anyways. In my opinion, LLM is a great idea because it adds a lot to a person (I believe). If you're taking a loan, just make sure that you have sufficient money to repay instalments over next couple of months after your qualification as finding a job can take longer than expected.
Hope this helps.

it isnt worth it. ask the same question on rollonfriday.com - if you are gonna pursue the LPC and training contract and have to take out a loan it isnt worth it.
