I got an unconditional offer from Edinburgh University today.
I applied on December 30 and it took them almost 2 months to respond. They said I have to secure the place before March 18. I think I won't receive an offer. Can anyone tell me here if one can deffer it's admission for second year in Edi?

Hi all :))) I am so glad I found this website and the discussion board :) I am also admitted to LLM International Law 2009/2010 :))) Edinburgh was my top choice and I applied in the middle of October 2008 but I got my admission notification in the end of January 2009. Meanwhile I was admitted to MA International Law at SOAS and accepted there but the moment I read my email from Edinburgh I switched. I am without an undergraduate degree in Law although I have taken four law courses. Is there anyone else without LLB but who will read International Law the upcoming year? Do you know how many students are admitted to the programme? I am just curious how many of us will be :))) See you in September :)))

Hey Maya good luck at Edinburgh :)
They dont tell us how many students are coming to the LLM but i dont think its that much, in depends also on your specialization, I dont know really how it fot Public Int. Law
I also applied for LLM Public Int. Law and got unconditional offer. Accepted the offer but I will reject it because I m going to UCL. However I might visit Edinburgh while I m in Europe because I know its a very beautiful place.
Good luck :)

I am Greek. My grade is so far 7,5/10 and i am going to accomplish my studies the summer.do i have any chances?is there any exam i should take?I think to attend seminars related to legal terminology in English. Also,i am thinking to attend an one year LLM here in Greece in order to have more possibilities to be accepted in a university abroad.
I know i have too many questions so any information would be valuable!!!

In my previous correspondence with Edinburgh, when I asked if is there a acceptance rate or any indicator of admission chances, I was told that usually have circa 140 LLM students. I received a unconditional offer today and I received a e-mail with euclid login details etc. on Jan 19 or 20.
Hope You find it helpful.
Regards.
By the way I don't think I'll choose to go to the UK... haven't made my mind yet

Guys, need your advice.
I've got unconditional offers and full scholarship opportunities from Leiden Advanced studies in PIL with International Criminal Law specialization and from Edinburgh International law.
Which one is better in International Legal field?

Think about which course offers the classes that are most in line with what you want to learn. As an Edi grad I am going to say Edi is fab for international law, but I haven't studied at Leiden. In the end, you will get as much from an LLM as you put into it so keep that in mind no matter where you go. Be sure to take advantage of all extra-curricular activities and lectures offered at the uni. Edinburgh has a very rich and diverse programme and has great out-of-class offerings.
Best of luck.

I would prefer Edinburgh Univeristy....my cousins and my brother is studying LLM there...!! He says its awesome for International Law and It is the Best for IT and IP law programmes.
For Technology and Intellectual Property courses Edinburgh is ranked in the top 3 Universities of UK

Hy,
I received an offer approximately 4 weeks after I submitted my application. They seem to work very fast at Edinburgh.

Hey there,
I got accepted too. I took them 4 weeks as well. However it seems to me that they accept everybody, or is it just my impression?

Hi,
I am not sure about that. I've heard that there are only 140 places for LLM students at UoE. If this is the case, the recruitment is rather competitive.
Secondly, I am sure that people who were rejected aren't that eager to write on this board about it.
I was accepted at UoE (LLM in Commercial Law) and at QMUL and I am inclined to choose UoE over QMUL. What would be your choice?
Best of luck,
Marvs

Hey,
I am still awaiting reply from UCL and QMUL, so I will decide once I'll receive their decision. However I would choose UE over QMUL too.

I am really sorry to inform you but academic curriculum wise and professors wise and Library's books wise and experience wise....University of Edinburgh is about 15% better than QMUL...!
Yes I do approve of QMUL if you really want to stick to london.
so i dunno if what you have heard is true or not..!

Hello everyone!
I received an unconditional offer from the UoE for their Commercial Law program. For those who are still waiting, the time lapse between conclusion of the application and receipt of the offer was around a month and a half (I applied only in February). I didn't accept it yet since I'm waiting to hear from UCL, KCL and Utrecht. Nevertheless, I was wondering if any of you guys have already started looking out for accomodation and the like in Edinburgh? Anyone who's already there could give us some inside info?
Thanks a lot!
Cheers.
