Does anyone know the requirements for becoming a UK solicitor for foreign law graduates? I am a civil law graduate, but am currently planning to do a LLM in London.
Thanks,

There are separate systems for Scotland on the one hand and England and Wales on the other. As regards E&W, if you are a qualified lawyer in your home jurisdiction the normal route would be via the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test. I believe that you need some practical experience. The main alternative route is via a qualifying law degree/CPE/GDL and then the LPC. You then need a training contract (2 years). An LLM is not necessarily a qualifying law degree. Information is on the Law Society website: http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/becomingasolicitor.law
