what is the date they usually dispatch their admission decisions ?

Normally the last two weeks in February until March 15th (sometimes going beyond that date). This year seems to be unprecedented.

We should start a virtual betting pool on what the date (/week) they will start making admissions decisions will be. I am betting £100 that decisions will only be made (as far as we on this forum will be aware) beginnig next week. I suppose I should hedge my losses somehow. But it's gonna be difficult without having someone set the ratios. Anyone gonna take me up on that bet?

My sources at Cambridge have told me that the Admissions Department is in fact conducting a research with the Department of Psychology, on how LL.M students react to a status of such great uncertainty for a prolonged amount of time. The theory is that it may cause anxiety, depression and irrational outbursts of anger and tendency to launch into rants on the so called 'World Wide Web'.

The current working name of the research is: 'Project UCDC (Under Consideration by Degree Committee)'.

Exciting stuff really... for everyone except the subjects apparently.

I tried calling the Admissions Office of the Board of Graduate Studies, and asked them whether the fact that I've been under consideration by DC since January is normal (taking into account the fact that they say on their website that "it may take approximately seven days from departmental approval for your application to be considered by the Degree Committee").

She actually said that it is unusual - then I thought (but kept it for myself), why are we all in the same "unusual" situation then? :))

The lady told me to contact the following number, which is basically the LLM Administrator's number: +441223330034. But then I ended up in their voicemail, so I left a message with my application number and asked them if it was possible to have further information in this regard. I'll let you know if they get back to me :)

Update: I tried re-calling the LLM Administrator, she said that the 7 days delay is irrelevant for the LLM admissions process. I asked her when should we expect the offers, she just said that it's an "ongoing process" and that we should hear back from them anytime up until the 15th. So... nothing new :(

That's strange considering this time last year, some applicants had already been rejected and some had been accepted. I wonder if they had more applicants this year and/or they had applicants that have unique and interesting backgrounds that they are willing to consider than they would have in the past. Nevertheless, I feel like we are a little close knit family here. We are all in the same boat and all share the same irrational, funny thoughts and concerns. It's been comforting. I hope we all get in!

The wait is indeed agonising, even bordering inhumane treatment- "at least such treatment as deliberately causes severe suffering, mental or physical, which in the particular situation is *unjustifiable" (The Greek 1969)

I am of the belief that we might not hear from them until after the last Degree Committee Meeting...which I think will be convened on 9th March. Until then, all we can do is sing "Kumbaya".

I don't know, but idn4ihl's message has put such idea on my mind because he was told that his situation is unusual, obviously the situation of us all is unusual, but I am thinking that if there is a general delay in confirmations/ rejections people in Admissions Office would be aware of that and inform so. Instead, they said that the situation is "unusual" (that word is now fixed on me).

As you can see, I share your anxiety status as well. I am supposed to be working now but I find it reaaaally hard to focus.
