Sorry, i am a bit confused over here. How to define BoGS? Awaiting decision by the Board?

The consensus seems to be that if your status on CamSIS is "Awaiting decision by the Board of Graduate Studies" you have been BoGSed.

There is also, apparently, an "Awaiting consideration by the Board of Graduate Studies" status which an MCL applicant in this thread received before they were rejected.

It is unclear whether anyone who has been BoGSed has ever been rejected, it seems from this thread and from previous years as if everyone who received an "Application Unsuccessful" status was at the "Awaiting consideration..." stage.

Fingers crossed.

I wonder what time the offers are made till in a day, it must already be around three there! I'm beginning to get anxious because of this endless wait.

Hi guys

My status in Camsis has always remained the same " Awaiting consideration from department". Has anyone been in the same boat as me? Could this mean that I am put informally in the waiting list?

Ah, I did not know about this "consideration"/"decision" distinction! Is one a step to the other? There doesn't seem to be any mention of it online, as far as I can tell, most posts mention consideration in terms of the Department. Does the consideration also include that line "the degree committee is satisfied with your application. However, your offer has not yet been approved"?

I don't recall ever seeing "Awaiting consideration by the Board of Graduate Studies" on my CamSIS. As far as I can tell it changed directly from "Awaiting consideration by Department" to "Awaiting decision by the Board of Graduate Studies." If you scroll back a few pages you'll see the details of an Indian MCL applicant being rejected by the Board of Graduate Studies after having their status changed to "Awaiting consideration by Board of Graduate Studies."

I would speculate that the Degree Committee was satisfied with the merits of their application but felt that there could be some issue with the application and its documentation so it passed it along to the BoGS for a second opinion.

Also, to people who have received offers, were you notified by email before you checked your CamSIS? I'm getting tired of refreshing CamSIS every hour.

Could all applicants who have been rejected already please update their profiles under LLM Guide's application tracker shortly?

This would help everyone else assess the likelihood of their own success.

Thanks.

The conditional offer was updated on the CamSIS account along with all the conditions. Nothing was sent by email. I was told by a friend though that once all conditional are met they send you an email with the unconditional offer.

congratulations to everyone who has received an offer thus far.

i received mine earlier on but i have just been informed that i was rejected from my first choice college... i'm assuming college selection is merits-based and i wonder what would happen if i get rejected by both choices, or worse, by all the colleges?

congratulations to everyone who has received an offer thus far.

Which of the colleges did you pick as your first choice?

You don't need to be anxious about that! I remember reading somewhere on the Cambridge website that if given an offer, then you'll definitely get admission in a college even if not the ones you chose. Also, congratulations on getting in!

jesus college.

my second choice is trinity hall, which from my understanding is even harder to get in.
