Any results from Singapore yet? Not like I'm expecting a positive reply...

Not that I know of. But why aren't you expecting a good reply? Keep your hopes up, it still isn't 15/3 yet!

I just checked this morning (Australian time) and my status has changed to Awaiting Decision by the BoGS: Degree committee is satisfied with your application. It was still Awaiting Consideration by Department last night when I went to bed.

My status got changed to "Awaiting Decision by the BoGS", but there is no second sentence (ie a lot of you have said that your status also included the sentence "degree committee is satisfied with your application" or something to that effect, but there is no sentence like that in my status).

What does it MEAN? So infuriating!

Does it say anything if you click on view/amend?

No, nothing additional.

Wait, no. I am mistaken/blind. It says: The degree committee is satisfied with your application. However, your offer has not yet been approved.

!!!!! I won't get my hopes up too high though.

Finally my status changed to BGS in the last 2 hours.

I am happy but this Cambridge system is most unprofessional. It only creates confusion, stress and lot of uncertainty. I feel applicatnts should not have to interpret so many different status. All the other law schools I applied to were very methodical about informing decisions without so much drama

If this is how Cmbridge runs the admission system I am worried how they will run the LLM, Anyway back to bed now :)

I do not think Cambridge is at fault. It is us who choose to interpret every little thing in our own way. Cambridge has a two stage process: 1. Consideration by department 2. Approval by the Board of Graduate Studies. This process will lead to either an offer or a rejection.

The rest are just interpretations by anxious applicants for which Cam should not be blamed. I remember telling Law01 that we would hear of offers in March and he said Feb. It turned out to be March. My only problem with Cam is the fact that they never stick to deadlines, be it admission, funding, fulfillment of conditions etc. They simply take your time and that comes with frustration of its own.

But like i said, lets continue being optimistic.

Apology to disagree with you. As an applicant the only thing I was interested in is whether I get approved or no. I do not like all these silly messages like BGS --> 99%, BGS-->Rejection, followed by conditional offer.

I would have been happy if they took 7 more days and gave everyone a simple update whether Yes or No like Harvard does. I think even now except for one person (for MCL) nobody has been rejected. I feel rejections should be made clear early because those candidates need the extra time.

Anyway I will write down all these reasons and send an email to the BGS rejecting their offer. I truly believe it is a very amateur way run university. Maybe that is why so many people reject Cambridge.

I totally understand your frustration but like i said, the whole 99.9% story is a creature of anxious applicants. Cambridge said that you will hear back by the 15th of March and honestly i think its a fair time seeing as other universities like Harvard havent got back to us.

Every university has their mode of selection and if you do not like one, then there is nothing much to do since they have made it clear what their selection is. Infact i am glad Cambridge is not like Harvard where there is even a waitlist, making it even worse for anxious applicants.

"I truly believe it is a very amateur way run university. Maybe that is why so many people reject Cambridge." Again, this is opinion although i do not agree with it. But i guess this is not an argument that can be started and won on social media.

Good luck with your application though.

Congratulations to all that have been BoGSed and those with offers, I'm still awaiting consideration, I've thrown in the towel, I presume my competition was just much too strong. I'm still thrilled to take up offer at LSE. Congrats again guys.

It is too early to throw in the towel. I will keep the hope alive for you and hope to meet you in Cambridge in September. I also have an offer for LSE but i am sure i am not taking it up.
