Cambridge LLM 2015-16

I´m an EU student and I didn´t get one. It´s most likely for UK/Commonwealth applicants since they have their own bursaries for which the rest of us are not eligible.

I know a couple of UK students who have not received it though :s this email made my life so confusing haha

Dear fellow applicants,

I've been following this thread for quite some time now and have finally decided to join in! Though I may be late to the party, I hope I can also post some info about my application which might help:

I'm a UK based applicant and I too have received the email re: funding. The status of my application however remains unchanged...

Hi!

I also just joined this group.
I am French but I got the email about the funding though I study in Paris. But I graduate from a French and English university so maybe that's why I got the email (?)

My status hasn't changed though and it's starting to worry me...

Hi all,

Jumping in also with LordMansfield; I've been following this thread too recently and hope I might be able to be of some help.

I'm a UK-based applicant and received the email yesterday RE: the bursary. Not reading too much into it but would be interested to have verified whether every UK applicant received it or not. My Camsis is still awaiting consideration...

Wishing everyone good luck!

Hmm, strange... Like I say, not going to read too much into it. We shall see!

My status just changed!!! It says "Awaiting decision by the Board of Graduate Studies. The degree committee is satisfied with your application. However your offer has not yet been approved".

Does this mean that I am closer to getting in?

Apologies in advance for fuelling everyone's obsessive speculation....

....but I'd be really interested to hear what your background is (education & experience-wise). If you were surprised to have been accepted, maybe your background will give some of the rest of us hope...?! Or were you just being very modest? :P

Thanks!

Hey,

I´m originally from Finland and the first one from my family with a university education. I went to a very average high school but managed to do quite well and ended up at Manchester for my LLB. I did eventually graduate with a First but I had to take a year out for medical reasons, which I was sure would prejudice my application. Also, my first year grades sucked to say the least. I have absolutely zero legal work experience but I did do some volunteering and charity work at university. I know that academically I am quite strong (if you only look at my last two years) but I was sure that with no work experience and my year out I stood very little chance. The only thing that might have helped me though was that my references were written by two extremely prominent academics both of whom went to Cambridge.

Thank you! I really don´t want to get my hopes up though, I refuse to believe it until I see a definite offer :) Do you guys have any idea when we will find out about funding by the way? I have applied for Gates and Cambridge Trust as well as W.M. Tapp

Hello all. I am a current student at the Cambridge LLM. Judging from all the cases I know, getting to the 'Awaiting decision by the Board of Graduate studies' stage means you are in all likelihood admitted. I have not heard of a single case of a rejection in that stage.
