I received an email on friday saying I got a conditional offer. My Camsis is not updated yet. I still don't know the conditions of my offer. Is the email enouch to be sure that I have a conditional offer? I would have to decline other universities and I don't want to be misled.
From oxford, I got a letter of acceptance. I never got an email from them.

Hi there
Have people who have received a conditional offer and had their camsis updated to say 'offer set' actually received anything in the snail mail??
My camsis got updated weeks ago and I still haven't received any actual paperwork.
Thanks

I received the package by mail sometime last week, which was about a month after I received the e-mail.
There isn't anything extraordinary in the package, and you can find out all your conditions plus accept the offer via camsis.
I suppose the only importance of the package is to find out which college your application has been sent to.
Hope Cambridge gets back to you soon equity's darling; we all know how frustrating this is :(

Are you in Canada??

I am in Canada and I only received last friday the email confirming that I got the conditional offer. My Camsis is not updated yet.
I am very anxious as well. I don't even know what the conditions of my offer are.
I hope we receive some material soon.

equity's darling:
Sorry for the confusion I am actually in London; the mail arrived on Monday (2nd April) and was sent on 30th March.
The fact that you haven't got your package despite having received the email much earlier than I did really doesn't sound right...

Hi
I received my package in the mail last night. I haven't really looked at it carefully.
I just have a financial condition. Looks like I just have to fill out a form. Not sure if I need to include other material such as bank statements, guarantees etc?
What have other people done who have a financial condition?
Thanks
Aussie Girl

Hey Aussie Girl,
I got a financial condition as well. I just signed the form and sent it off. I don't think they ask for anything else, unless you are getting sponsored or have a scholarship, in which case they ask for proof of either of these two things.
Hope to see you in October!

Thanks for that.
When did you send it back? Have you heard anything from them since?
Where are you from?

I'm sorry to ask something that will surely seem pretty silly, but I applied only to American schools and I don't know Cambridge admissions process.
However, could someone tell me exactly what a conditional offer from Cambridge is (what do they want to verify and how) and why so many conditional offers are apparently made?
Thank you very much.

I think all the offers at Cambridge are conditional offers. I believe that at least the proof of financial ability to pay is one condition. Then, it could be an English test, proof of finishing a degree....However, I'm in the same boat...I still don't know the conditions of my offer.....from Oxford it was proof of completing the LLB degree with the GPA that I had sent them....no financial conditions though....

Thank you MGC!
Do you mean that it is possible to apply even for those with a TOEFL or IELTS below their stated minimum and then they can tell you: ok, we like you but in order for you to enroll you must re-take the exam and reach the threshold (or some other score)?

Dam,
I think it is possible. But when I applied I did not submit any test results. I tend to think that if your test score was not according to their standards, they'll give a condition to take the test again...but I am not sure....maybe contact them....

I would like to know from those people who have received packages both from the College and from the University their date of post. I haven't received these packages yet. I know that I live very far from Cambridge, but...

Dam,
you are allowed to apply without any test result. You will receive a conditional offer then, subject to reaching a certain grade/mark in ielts or toefl respectively.

Heard from college (dated April 2) and the University (dated March 21). I am from Canada - it took forever to get the formal packages and even longer for Camsis to update vs when I received my email notification.
