Aussi Girl;
I am in the same condition. I recieved the conditional offer e-mail on 9th of february and my camsis page got updated sometime beggining of march. The offer is conditional to the satisfaction of financial conditions. And when i click on the related link concerning the documents to be provided, it directs me to the general LL.M prospectus. I guess we should wait until we recieve the formal offer letter in which they must send info regarding the documents to be submitted.

Did you guys get college membership yet? if so, where?
My conditions say: financial, college, 'non standard academic'.
I think the first relates to getting aletter from a bank, the second is obvious, and the third might mean a copy of degrees conferred??

No college membership yet.
Think I only have the financial condition but haven't received the paperwork yet.
I guess you just need bank statements/letters for the finance stuff..
Have you received info in the mail?

no mail yet, though camsis says it has been sent. I am puzzled about the nonstandard academic requirement. i think it has to relate to the provision of formal documents, and nothing else, since i have already graduated from the BA and LLB and am currently working (so obvioulsy it can't relate to achieving a certain academic standard in the reaminder of studies).

Cambridge really loves to take their own sweet time don't they. It's really hard to plan ahead when everything is so uncertain.

Did anyone apply to other LLMs? Have they heard from them?
I applied to LSE and Ox - but no word yet.

Hi everyone,
I have been accepted to the LLM program at Cambridge. I am not really interested in International or Commercial law. If i attend I will probably do a thesis, and more general classes (family law, philosophy of crime etc). Can anyone tell me how difficult the program is? Will I have time to have a social life? Basically, is the LLM program SUPER difficult to get through?I am American and would attend Cambridge for two reasons: 1. to study at a great school and 2. to experience the UK. Thus, if the studying portion of the degree is overwhelming I may as well get the degree closer to home.
Thanks in advance!

From talking to my friends who went to both Cambridge and Oxford, the Cambridge LLM sounds like much more fun. I don't think it would be super difficult to get through but I guess it depends on how hard you want to work.

Thanks Flygirl!
Anybody else who knows about the difficulty level of the Cambridge LLM please fill me in! Also, does anybody know if the LSE LLM program is much easier to get through then the Cambridge LLM. I don't want to sound like a lazy person on this site....because i'm really not...I just want to enjoy my UK experience and not spend my days and nights studying like a mad person!
Aussi, I don't know if you still want/need this information but I have heard from both Oxford and the LSE. I was accepted to the LSE almost 2 months ago (I'm American and that may make a difference in the time frame). I was rejected from Oxford last week!

To be honest, I don't think there is a question: you should go to Cambridge. I imagine you will have to work as hard at either place and Cambridge, with its tradition, history, and college system, is a unique experience. It is only 45 minutes into London on the train and you are only 25 miles from Stanstead airport for cheap trips to Europe (Prague costs only 20 pounds return, for example). I also imagine that being a smaller town it would be easier to make friends in your class at Cambridge because people won't be diffused about the city like in London. Plus it is cheaper in Cambridge.
My friends who studied at Cambridge had an absolute blast. In fact, one friend came 2nd overall and still seemed to spend a large portion of his time at the pub.

Do you receive like an email (or letter) saying that you are rejected, or is Camsis the sole and fastest way of checking?
Posted Mar 27, 2007 23:59
mbz,
I'm assuming you're asking me....I received a letter from Oxford saying I was rejected.

Actually the question is addressed to everybody. So if the final decisions for Cambridge LLM will be made in the next couple of days, I should be hearing from admissions via mail in the next 2 weeks + couple of days?

Off topic, I know, but does anybody know if it's possible to hand write exams at Cambridge, or must all exams be typed??
What if you're a slow typer (like me)? Can we get either more time (unlikely) or a special dispensation permitting us to handwrite exams?

Has anybody received an answer from cambridge over the last week?
Posted Apr 02, 2007 23:00
Not yet. I suppose the "gnomes" are still working on it.
Posted Apr 03, 2007 00:22
thanks irishguy. That is very good news for slow typers like me. I think that mandating a typed response is very, very unfair; yet certain classes at my law school did just that.
Regarding exams, I feel your pain. Keep at it (and off this board) and you'll do just fine.
