A DP is a good sign right? Even if went directly from "under review by department" to "Decision pending"?

Well done all with DP. Still under review like others but definitely time still for good news.

From my understanding of other years DP equating to the new PAO term just means something less than a background check, more an academic check. They'll make sure your results are correct, etc and usually then it's almost guaranteed to turn into a legitimate offer after a few more weeks of further waiting.

Yep, PAO is just to verify whether your documents are legitimate or falsified achievements. Its mainly administrative

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I was admitted today. I applied at the deadline, and I went to "DP" late last week sometime.

I was not top of my class in law school. I was in my undergrad. I'm north American. I went to a globally well known school, and I've practiced after graduation. I am published.

Good luck everyone. To be honest, I'm very surprised, and grateful.

Many congratulations to you! Well done!

If you don't mind my asking - did you receive an email, or check your application status on the portal?

Congratulations again :)

Hi everyone! I can't believe that my MCL status has changed to DP. I'm in Australia and there's an 11-hour time difference with the UK. The last thing I do before I go to bed and the first thing I do when I wake up every day is check my portal. So I think I get the DP on the afternoon of the 27th UK time.

Anyway, don't lose hope if you haven't got a DP yet, and don't doubt yourself! So far no one seems to have received a rejection, which seems to be a good sign.

Thank you! I received the email. But I work so I only check the portal once before bed. Good luck!

Hi
Did everyone with a DP receive an email informing them of the change in the application status?

Congrats! This is really fast. Thank you for also sharing

Note for all under PAO or under review, from past threads there wasn't anyone who reported they've moved from PAO to formal offer in a week time before rejections were released. Offers were usually sent 1-2 weeks after rejections. Perhaps the application process is really quite different this year

I appreciate that this is not super pressing for the moment but I am curious - does anyone know if the "reasons for applying" essay appears to the assessors as one big block of text without paragraph spaces (as it appears to us when you download the application)? Or does it retain the paragraph spaces we might have put into the text field?

Apologies if this isn't super relevant at the mo

Mine is one big block of text when I download my application. This makes me really confused as well. But I guess the assessors can read them normally?

Hahaha don't remind me of the applications. I'm asking myself if the slipshod sending near the deadline and spelling errors are the sword I'll fall on ????

Haha, thought so too regarding my applications (spelling errors included not just once). Nevertheless, I moved to dp for the MCL as previously mentioned. So heads up, I guess.

hahhaha I read my application the other day and had a real nice chuckle. Sending it right before the deadline was perhaps not the brightest idea.

Hi has everyone who might get an offer been shifted to DP? Should we expect more DPS now? Feeling super anxious

I think there is no way to tell for sure whether everyone has been moved or more DPs are yet to come. At the same time it seems reasonable to assert that the department moves strongest applications to DP first, so that the longer we wait the lower the chances probably are. I still have hope, but looking reastically I understand I might have written not the best personal statement given the courses on offer did perfectly fit my goals, so I bet more on other unis now

UPD: did not want to sound pessimistic, just wrote my thoughts. Still hope it goes great for you all guys!

To be perfectly honest I think I've given up and am no longer anxious. My profile is not super academic, I have 5+ years of work experience and this doesn't seem like its super in line with cambridge's requirement.

It is alright. I have been accepted by other great unis and have options to choose from.

Genuinely don’t want to sound pessimistic or demotivate anyone who is wrecked with anxiety (just like me), but at this point I just want to receive the rejection so I can make my peace with it.

Heartiest congratulations to everyone who has moved to the next stage, and those who have gotten accepted!
