Hey guys, does anybody know roughly how many offers Cambridge gives out per year for the llm?
P.S. Good luck everybody!
About 200.
Acceptance rate is close to 100 %.
But there's more than five applicants for each spot.
That's not true - around 350-400 offers are made. Last year I think around 400 offers were made.
Acceptance rate is whatever (definitely not close to 100%) but the actual conversion of LLM offerees to real LLM students is below 50% every year - usually around 160-200 students for ~400 offers. Many people with offers can't meet the financial undertaking without scholarships which they hope they will get but unfortunately only a small proportion do; others don't meet their conditional offers or are applicants to other universities and accept another offer instead, very often the BCL or Harvard LLM (for those wishing to study in the US over the UK usually).
P.S. Good luck everybody!</blockquote>

Great - I go to the effort of posting some useful / interesting information for all, and get accused of typing out bullshit.
Why do I bother *rolls eyes*.
If you care to, see the cached page of the LLM site for 2013-14 applicants and this was posted publicly before this info was removed. It's still widely known by current LLM students - especially those who were undergrads at Cambridge and read for the Tripos too.
Acceptance rate is around 50-60% and conversion to students is below 50% every single year.

Does anybody know whether we will have to wait for the next meeting of the degree committee on March 6th? or will they release decisions before that?

If we do then there's a chance BCL decisions and Cam decisions will be out on the same day!

From last year's thread it seems that during the days after the second degree committee meeting (which was on Feb. 28) people got admission offers. Since the next meeting is on March 6th, I think we have a long wait, unfortunately, but I hope Cam will surprise us before that :-)

Do you know when BCL decisions will be out? *nervous*
Cambridge has already started making offers - I think it is unlikely that there won't be a bulk of offers in Feb but see my previous lengthier post.

I don't think they started making offers for the LL.M. program.

I don't know for sure but in previous years they have been around that time - a week or so before the website says they will be out basically.
Edit - actually just checked last years thread and every reported offer was made on 11th-12th March. Some people were rejected on 8th March. No-one reported hearing anything either way outside of those dates - so it is a very small window indeed rather than a slow death like at Cam...
Weird that no-one on here has got an early offer if Cam has started giving them out. Usually at least one person posts that they have, or knows someone who has!

Let's hope they made some decisions on the 7th, but they are taking their time sending those out (and hopefully on Monday they will)..

Looks like people are more calmer today! Well, the wait continues! On the school website, it is written "The Committee aims to send out all offers of admission at around the same time in late February/early March 2014" so clearly we have a few more weeks to go!
Posted Feb 11, 2014 12:03
Has anyone heard from Cambridge?
Good luck everyone!

Guys the wait is grinding my nerves; if there is someone in the UK could he do a favor for him and for all of us and call Mrs Wade to see when and why are they taking too much time compared to last year more than quickly process.
Thanks A lot guys !!!

I think that on the next meeting of the degree committee on March 6th we will hear from Cambridge for sure. I don't see how they can prolong it after that.

Someone has already pointed out that their website does say they are planning to just make all offers in one batch at the end of Feb / beginning of March.

Guys i guess they are waiting for the US offers to be delivered so that hesitant people make their minds and when the offer will come they will be able to have so rejection in order to have a waitlist for students with little chance to be admitted to have one at least.

I don't think so. Most of the people who get admitted somewhere will not withdraw their application, but rather wait for the decision to see if it's better (financial aid, better school etc.) so I think it's wishful thinking, but I don't think Cambridge cares about US offers.
