Exactly, there is no good way to make such comparisons. University rankings are inherently flawed. Here's an article on the topic that I think every student applying to universities should read:

I am from India as well. The status still shows 'awaiting consideration by department'. I just hope that still there is a chance!

That really is an excellent article. Thanks for posting. It should make anyone lucky enough to have a couple of good offers or more a little less stressed about deciding which school to attend.

Unsuccessful at Trinity College. Well, I knew that. Newton and Hawking never want to be with me in any sense.

Also unsuccessful at Trinity, but that is not even remotely surprising. "Under Consideration by College" is my current status.

In case of a rejection, the status changes to unsuccessful?
Any other applicants from India/Asia whose status still says awaiting consideratjon?

How long did they take to make a decision? Trinity is my first choice and camsis still says under consideration - i think I changed to seeking college membership last Monday...

I also got into Wolfson, which was my first choice. I never put much effort into picking a college and I cannot remember what were my reasons for choosing this one. Does anybody know if Wolfson is any good? This ranking made me worry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tompkins_Table
