I'm in the same position. I'd be interested to know the answer to this question!

@ Mark W: Could you please confirm that you havn't been made an offer?
Hi, yes can confirm that.
Thanks.
So it's the curse of the thread opener once again.
Good luck for your other applications.
Hey Eppendorf,
How did you feel when you got rejected from Oxford?
Was it upsetting, did it take you a while to get over it?
I was admitted to Oxford.
Sorry for not updating my profile after accepting the offer from Cambridge (just fixed that).

Eppendorf, what were your reasons for choosing Cambridge over Oxford?

Cambridge's much higher reputation in Germany.

Does anybody know when we are to be notified about funding and scholarships?
It's been said that those shortlisted for the Gates scholarship should have already gotten their emails, so that ship has sailed. As for the Cambridge Trusts, I saw in their website that they will start sending out the decisions on scholarships tomorrow.
Really anxious here, as I depend on one to go!

Well, nice to read this person's opinion, but I still don't see that as any sort of formal authority... I think both Cambridge and Oxford have an outstanding reputation (in Germany and elsewhere) and their "quality" may only be compared once you consider your field of specialisation (which one offers you better courses?) and your way of absorbing new information (do you prefer listening to smart people or writing your own papers?)...

@ grotian .... is that confirmed information? (about Gates Cambridge having already sent out offers?)

as far as I know, it used to be easier for Germans to get into Oxford due to the fact that no one really knew what an "MJur" was. I know that last year you needed 11,5 as well

For what it's worth my status finally changed to 'Application Unsuccessful' today so at least there is some closure :)

:'( So if your status is still 'awaiting consideration by department', than it's likely that I'm also rejected by Cambridge?
