I was wondering, however, why the conditional offer letter was not cc. to my first college choice as well. Does anyone know why would this happen?

federica i wouldnt worry too much about. I hadn't realised that they had cc'd in my college until someone on here told me about it. i wouldn't worry. anyway you can always ring up the admissions helpline: they are extremely friendly and very helpful.

My camsis has been updated with college - queens. (though i still haven't received my package!)
Posted Apr 03, 2007 18:57
and by the way that wasn't my first choice - trinity hall was - which implies (perhaps?) that trinity hall have also decided on whom they want.

Congrats on the college albeit not your 1st choice!
I wouldn't be too sure that the other colleges have made their choice. It may have been that the BGS sent your app straight to Queens instead of Trinity Hall.
Hope to hear from my college soon...

I'm from Brazil and I haven't received any package from Cambridge yet. In relation to the College, I'd like to hear some tips about it.

HI! I received my offer on February but heard nothing ever since from the Colleges. The truth is I haven't applied for a specific College but I noted on the application "no College Preference". Which is the procedure in this case?
And something else:
Last week I asked for a deferral. Does this mean that I won't be informed about the College choice??

Hey everyone!
I only received an email last week, my camsis has not been updated yet and I have no idea about college choices yet...:(
Does anyone know if it's possible that we are accepted to our second choice college? In fact, my second choice became my first choice....

Forever, was Homerton your first choice or second choice or you did not choose colleges?
Posted Apr 06, 2007 18:16
It was my first choice. My second choice was Hughes Hall. It seems that I'll have to walk a lot every day in order to go to the Faculty!

Does anyone know if you must accept your offer before they will place you in a college? I have until May to accept my offer (the letter was dated March 19), and was wondering if there is any way I might find out where I am offered college membership before I respond to the formal offer letter. Thanks.

Dear Friends,
I have been to Cam last week end and wondered around a bit. I have also visited the BGS, Law Faculty and some colleges.
BGS told me that they send each accepted student's file to their first choice college. If your first choice collges is unable to offer you a place then then send it to your second choice. If they are unble too then you will fall into the computerized system and your dossier will be sent to the other colleges (with the exception of those you have specifically mentionned). Once a college decides to make you an offer they will contact you directly.
As far as I have understood, if you have not recieved anything from the colleges yet, then it is highly probable that you will not get into your 1st and second choice colleges. However college membership should not worry anyone as it is nearly 100% sure that you will be allocated into one of the colleges and for LLM studies these "only" (nearly) serve as accomodation.
Of course the facilities may vary from college to college, but the main concern should be the distance to/from the Law faculty. This being said, apart from a few collges who are located outside of the town, the distance should not be a big concern as Cambridge is a relatively small town and everyone gets around on Bikes.
I have also asked the BGS if satisfying the financial conditions will make a difference for the consideration of the colleges and they said "it might, but not necessarily!"
C u in in October.
Of btw, are we gonna be able to recognize each other once at Cambridge? I suggest to organize an LLM blog users meeting in early october, what do you think about it?
